Why is eating fish considered to improve your intelligence?
There are five forms of whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus): bottom whitefish (C. l. fera), Valaam whitefish (C. l. widegreni), common or migratory whitefish (C. l. lavaretus), lake-dwelling whitefish (C. l. nilssoni) and plankton whitefish (C. l. pallasi). In addition, there is another species called northern or peled whitefish (Coregonus peled), originating from Russia.

Being related to salmon Siika is an easy fish to cook, and has a very delicate flavour.

I don't eat meat but I sure eat a lot of fish this looks delicious. The same must apply in Denmark when you talk about butter. There is a town here called New Denmark , founded by Danish immigrants ion the early 20th century and is still mostly decedents of those people. A friend from their always says that all Danish recipes begin with a pound of butter and a quart of cream. Whitefish seem to be a generic term is this a salt water or fresh water fish?

These are fished from lakes. Foreigners have trouble pronouncing double consonants in Finnish. My wife says that when i try to say Siika (Fish) I say Sikka (pig) :-)

1. Fun fact: salt and spices are usually added to meat to help us process it, since we are not true carnivores. 2. No good oil available in all of Finland at all? I find it hard to believe. 3. Rosemary does not have to survive the winter. In New York winters are getting cold too, yet we grow it outside.

We have a wide variety of oils like sunflower, rapeseed, imported olive oil, but butter seems to be preferred when cooking fish. We can grow rosemary in the summer the problem is overwintering it so it survives to the next year.
