You crack me up @12:40! I love the idea of the goji berries. I will have to put those on my list of things to grow!! I like your plan, sounds viable. It's almost 4 years later, I wonder how it worked out? I have figs growing in WA. They are awesome bushes, but haven't had any fruit on them yet and it's been several years. I think I'm too much in the woods. They like lots of sun. How about Sea buckthorne? Or Camellia (great if you like green tea or make your own black tea), they are evergreen too.

this sounds like a great theory. the only uncertainty i can see is that the power guys could always just be jerks and mess all your stuff up, but theyd be some big jerks if they did that bc youre doing this with their job in mind. good luck, hope its going well

With all of that area in the sun, use the entire area for herb growing. Most herbs are low plants, hardly ever taller then 4'. Could even include some perennial Rye. And as far as I know, if you want them to stay out of there, then maintain it yourself, and they have no reason to run everything over. They will just look and go away.

I like the plan...however, to keep them from destroying your plants and allow access, why not do moveable raised gardens. Example if you have a tow nob on your pick up, youll be able to move those plots out of the way whenever you need to and still be able to grow what you want in that area.

Good video Thom. Lots of good considerations in your planning. Lots of different crops you can use in the area.

Wow you have the perfect area to add in blueberries they also grow 5 to 6' tall and provide great fruit and love acidic soil

Want to do something like that here at our place as well comfrey is great for Chop and drop compost never heard of comfrey salve but that sounds like another reason to grow comfrey! Good luck. You can use fence panels but no as a fence but as screens....(if you get it) If you was too make your brumes(little hills) where the pawer-polls are stick the fence panels on the side you want to block or both.. you can use them as trellis.. I like the idea of the flowers I have no clue what goji berry’s are....have you looked in to Traditional meadow flowers an grasses...

If you keep the trees trimmed back they won't ever have to come in. Then you can grow anything for privacy. Even hedge.

Blackberries would bee a goid choice as well or Fig Trees even.

Try some Arbor Vitae, I have some 25 years old an only grew to about 20'tall, makes a nice privacy barrier, if you plant in rows the tops can be trimmed to keep them from the power lines and if staggered and planted at different times will allow to be replanted if the 1st row gets too tall and need removed. Ask the power company as well, looks like a great plan

Our co-op would grind any bushes down if they are under the power lines. They don't want anything except grasses under their lines.

Sounds like you have a great plan to block that view to your cabin. 👍 But,. I dont know about all of you? But have you all noticed that ALL power companies came around and cut the crap out our all trees this year? Now I live on a mountain and have been here for over 15 years and the power company has been to my home a number of times for various work but NEVER Cut Any of my trees. Not Ever. The locals said they've never had them come either. They always stayed out on the road. Btw,. When they cut my trees, they ruined then my huge hickory trees that weren't anywhere near touching the lines. I'm really suspicious about this as I've learned and saw many unsettling things about these power companies recently. There's been reports of Tons of power company trucks that cut seen together on interstates all together. Many, staying at motels in large numbers across states. Something is going on..Honestly, because of what I've seen on truth news channels, I'm getting OFF grid As soon as I possibly can. These smart Meters are bad news. Take a look at some utube channels pertaining to these darn things. Be aware.

Rent a ditch witch and Bury that power feed. Problem solved.
