I came from tiktok because I am super interested in learning about how to care for an axolotl before I purchase one. I have watched tons of videos, however I am still a bit confused on setting up a new tank & making sure that the water quality it perfect for an axolotl to thrive. If you could do an in depth video on what you would do when setting up a new tank, I would so appreciate it! I have watched some of your other videos such as, the tank set up, but I don’t feel like I got enough information about how to make sure the water is the right temp, how much conditioner to use, or anything else that might be vital to their survival. I love you videos & I hope to learn everything I can!!

So its a lot like leopard geckos and crested geckos. You look for the males balls. But its also cool you look at their belly as well. I guess females gotta be more rounded to be able to have eggs in their belly. Axolotls are my favorite salamanders. I work at an exotic store and if we get Axolotls they get sold fast.

Hey im having trouble identifying my axolotls, i have a black and white one they are both round but the white one is younger so i dont know if its either that they are both female or the white one is smaller and younger if you understand what i mean (my white one has quite a big bump but its round and it looks like a female so i think it might be a female because its round but it has a bit bump)

You are pronouncing it wrong. It’s not pronounced axealotal. It’s actually pronounced asholot a like you’re saying ah, x is pronounced as sho,and lotl is pronounced like low only with a t at the end the l is basically silent. The name comes from the Nahuatl ( Nahuat) language (an indigenous language)
