How to get a FREE Moen Replacement Cartridge!

**Update 09/12/22**
I recently contacted Moen and it seems the policy has changed. They will only warranty the faucet if I am the original owner of the faucet. If I buy a replacement cartridge they will only warranty that up to 1 year. The representative did make a one time exception. Hope this helps you.

Worked! If anybody was wondering if the replacement is still honored if the faucet was already installed in your home when you bought it and don’t have a receipt, the answer is yes. The rep I spoke with was very friendly and asked for basic information to mail a replacement and the year it was installed. No hassle! YMMV. Good luck!

I had already purchased a replacement cartridge before I saw this. I returned it and called Moen. They sent me, free of charge, a replacement cartridge for each side, and kit 97479, containing all of the plastic pieces that go with each faucet. They also sent me a cartridge removal tool. This was about $60 worth of free parts. Thanks for passing this information on to all of us!

Worked! They have a call back option, so didn't have to wait on hold. Super friendly customer service. They're mailing new parts, free of charge. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for this video. The cartridge in my guest bathroom recently started leaking. I found your video today, and did exactly what you said to do....and it worked. I spoke to a Kevin at Moen who was super helpful, and I have a new cartridge on its way, free of charge!

It’s 8:15am. I just watched the video and dialed the number. Representative from MOEN answered right away. I said that I have a leaking bathroom faucet, I bought my house as a new construction 7 years ago, and I need to get parts to fix the faucet. He asked me to take a picture of the faucet and text it to him, which I took and sent right away. The #1224 2 cartridges suppose to arrive in a week 😊! I also, watched the video with the demonstration on how to change the cartridges myself (FYI: I am female and fix issues myself whenever I can). It will save me 350$!!! Thank you!!! Update: a week later the replacement cartridges have arrived in the mail! 😊 I’ve replaced them on my bathroom sink using regular wrench tool and a towel. It took me approximately 30 minutes. The 7 year old MOEN faucet is working like brand new 😅!!!

Thanks for the video! You got lucky! I have to wait about 5 days for a scheduled call back, crazy.. But yeah it’s good to hear this, because I totally forgot about their warranty. 14 year old faucet, just started leaking a little. Great product.

Well this has been the most helpful video I've come across. I just called and they are sending me a new one and a coupon that allows me to buy 6 items up to 75% off. I didn't even have to prove that I had the old receipt. She asked if I had one (which I saved because I replaced the same this a couple years before and figured it would come in handy) and I just told her yes and that was good enough I guess.

Take the old one out and bring it to your local hardware store. Go to the help desk and ask for a replacement under warranty. Sometimes you need to ask for a manager as the person may be unaware, but this will work. I change out 2 tap cartridges every 6 months because I hate that feeling when they get difficult to move. I have yet to pay a dime for one.

I also should add that at first I didn't know about the warranty and bought one. My old man told me about the warranty and I brought the old one back to the store with a receipt and got my money back. I guess they just don't advertise this fact because they'll gladly take your money if you allow it...

Me again. Moen is awesome. They even sent a new handle. I was kinda joking with the C/S gal about needing one because the cap on mine had a broken tab and wouldn’t stay on. Plus all the insides and cartridge. Which is all I was calling about. Thanks again for your video!

This worked for me! I had my shower/tub faucets installed by a handyman. I could only guess that it was 12-14 years ago. I called the number, it was busy. Called again right away and they answered immediately. Talked to the nicest customer service rep I have ever encountered. It's rare to find anyone in customer service that nice and helpful. John was ok with my vague recollection of the installation time frame (no receipt, no exact date, no serial number for the faucet). Really impressive to get a free part replacement and free shipping. I'm sold on Moen now. Thanks for posting this info; most of the zillion videos I've watched about this repair task said to buy the cartridge. I'm going to check out your other videos now. Just hoping I can get the old cartridge out without having to buy another expensive tool. I did notice another video that involved putting a screw in and using a hammer to pry it out. Might have to try that.

I'm still plugging away on this difficult task. Stripped the hex screw completely. Tried every trick I could find. Ended up drilling out the whole screw. Not easy. About to work the cartridge out now. But while I'm thinking of it, the very nice Customer Service rep sent me a discount code good for 7 days, which gives you very significant savings on their products. I'm thrilled because I was about to go to HD and get a new kitchen faucet before my wonky old, cheap one bites the dust. Was able to get a new Moen one online for about half of what the cheapest one at HD would cost, with free shipping. While I'm steamed that Moen used a hex screw that no one seems to have the proper allen wrench to remove, between the free cartridge (which he sent me expedited for no charge because he felt sorry for me because we only have one bathroom) and the big discount on the kitchen faucet (saved $155), I'm now a big fan of Moen. Anyway, once this is done, I'll check out your other videos. You do a good job on them. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. @@Hindsight101

Thank you so much for this. My wife bought a new house just before we met about 6 years ago. It has these high-quality Moen "Brantford" fixtures. I've only had to replace bathroom faucet fixtures in this house so far, so now I get to buy a shower cartridge puller. Way to go Moen -- I'll be sure to specify your fixtures in the next house I buy! Now, I'll call and see if Moen will send a free replacement for the cheapest piece of hardware that the builder could find. Then I'll find out how much the puller costs. Isn't modern quality and technology good???? (BTW, I recently inherited from my aunt a house my grandmother had built in 1963. I had to repair a bathroom faucet - it required a 10-cent rubber washer. The 58 year-old "Delta" pull-and-twist shower valves are still working perfectly.)
