I also discovered that you can get the police clearance done at the police station and then send it yourself via postnet to Pretoria where they do the background or if you are close you can go there physically, but this is a much cheaper option if you are trying to save some money so you can look into that .

Hey, you have to go to post net not the post office for the background check and make sure that if you are applying for a job or what ever reason you need it for that it is acceptable before you pay for it because getting a police clearance is R190,00 even though it could take months possibly to get at the police station and the overnight background check is R180,00 so if it's acceptable and you need it quickly then that's your best option but be sure to check first because although they have the same information they are not the same thing.

Hey, this is what it says on the website The fingerprints must be taken by the South African Police Service. Persons living outside South Africa, may apply at the any police station in that country or at the South African Embassy. Fingerprints must be taken on the official fingerprint forms of the applicable country or, if available, on the SAPS 91(a) fingerprint enquiry form. Applicants living abroad may forward the application and required documents directly to CR & CSM for processing. Applications received from abroad will not be returned to the applicant. The applicant must monitor progress via the SAPS website and upon completion arrange for collection as indicated on the application form. For security purposes the certificate will only be handed over to the person nominated by the applicant or chosen courier service. Note that certificates not collected within three months after finalisation will be destroyed. Hope this helps

Hey, to be honest these things vary from station to station some only take cash others online take card payments. I would suggest that you call the station and ask them otherwise you may end up wasting your money with a eft. Hope that helps.

Hey, rates are not the same for all postnets so I think you should call the post net you want to use. But if you are outside the country then you can't do it anyway as you need to give finger prints. You are better off doing your police clearance and shipping it to pretoria. You can go to the police website to get the steps you need to take and to get the form.
