Dr. Dray lures us with "younger looking __(insert body part here)___" and then tricks us into leading whole healthy lifestyles with good sleep, SPF, veggies, not smoking, limiting alcohol, and exercise. Lol I love that every video has the same common sense advice. Almost a year ago I started taking Dr. Dray's lifestyle advice to heart and I feel much better for it. Thanks for everything Dr. Dray

Listen to Dr. Dray! I am 68 years old and have been doing her recommendations since before she was even born. Neither my face nor my neck show my age (However, my hips and knees sometimes do.😊) 1. Apply a liberal amount of Sunscreen including the neck. 2. Apply even more Sunscreen. 3. Read rules 1 and 2.

LOL! I wish I had known to start these things a few years earlier then when I found dr. Dre. I've been using sunscreen for quite some time due because of a medication that I take but not quite certain when I started use of sunscreen and of course I never reapplied. I was under the impression that I had to stay out of the Sun until I was told by a pharmacist to just use sunscreen! Had I known when I was 25 all of these recommendations, I guess I'd look about twelve years old by now! :-) needless to say I don't think I'd be too happy about that either, but I'd have great skin before the acne set in which for me seemed to be in my twenties.
@grimjowjaggerjak
@grimjowjaggerjak 3 жыл бұрын
@@sable7114 You don't actually need to reapply. Doctors, etc. recommend you to reapply because most people don't put the recommended amount of sunscreen so asking to reapply every two hours is a way to make sure of that.

Reading & phone usage would mean looking down for a lengthy period of time. Our heads are usually performing up/down movements quickly when performing everyday tasks. I bought a useful contraption to use while I’m in my bed on phone. It’s goes around neck & then has a phone holder....so when using phone I’m looking upwards....instead of down. I feel like a dork with it on, but whatever helps lol

Text Neck is also very bad for the cervical spine (the bones in the back of the neck). It pushes the bones out of alignment. The lower part of the neck is where the nerves come out to travel into the arms, hands and fingers which can lead to numbness and tingling, and more substantial nerve damage. It also causes neck pain, headache, upper back ache...and also make you look older.

@keenanicole23
@keenanicole23 3 жыл бұрын
It has actually been proven that fragrances do last longer on hair than they do on skin. So your observation of fragrances lasting longer when sprayed on your hair as opposed to your skin is definitely correct! I'm always shocked that more people don't know this for some reason. Many brands now include a fragrance spray specifically for your hair in their collections that once only included your standard perfume, body spray, lotion, shower gel, etc. I have been using Pink Sugar's fragrance hair spray for several years now & I love it. It is harder to find these sprays in average department stores with a makeup/fragrance isle, but you can always find them at Sephora and/or Ulta beauty stores and many places online. The only difference in the Pink Sugar hair fragrance and body sprays are the product ingredients, which have been slightly altered to cater to your hair instead of your skin. Some ingredients that aren't the best for your hair have been removed and other ingredients that are good for your hair have been added. Definitely something to look into for anyone that hasn't yet.

To all the people who struggle with falling asleep: I put on my favourite tv show and I fall asleep in 15 minutes, which for me is a record time (45 mins - 1.5 hrs is normal for me). I save an episode (or best moments compilation) to my watch later playlist on KZfaq and i move it all the way to the bottom, that way when its finished the phone turns off without waking me 😀 of course, it has to be something you are familiar with so you don't stay awake because you want to know what happens next. I do listen to it however, that way I'm not "listening to my thoughts" and it really stops the overthinking, which keeps me awake. A lot of people say not to do this, because then you will not be able to fall asleep on your own anymore... honestly though, it beats tossing and turning endlessly! Hope this helps someone 😴

Also been applying whatever skincare products I put on my face to my neck as well everyday for the same period. But the neck wrinkles I've gotten during my teens have never gone away. Anyway, I bought the omnilux led mask a month ago and have been using it diligently for about 4-5 times a week (10 minutes each use). Haven't noticed much difference in my skin yet, but I've read that results will only be noticeable after at least 2-3 months. I'll consider adding peptides to my skincare! Hopefully the wrinkles will at least fade a little in 3 months time.

Same. I would notice subtle things here and there but it wasn't anything that was a big deal. But these past two weeks it's all I can look at. I keep noticing different things and it's driving me crazy. I've become obsessed with it.

I want to give a big shoutout for Omnilux, I use face contour for only one time which was 10 minutes and saw the the redness on my cheeks reduced. I didn’t even know red light can reduce redness of skin. After using it everyday to now, it’s been 15 days. The redness on my cheeks are almost gone!! Haven’t seen any benefits on fine lines. But I am so happy with it already.

Smoked Meats are actually cooked at LOW temps...."low and slow" is the method. As a southerner, BBQ is LIFE where I live and the way we cook it is for a VERY long time (12-14 hours!) at Temps MUCH lower than you would use in an oven. It's not on direct heat and cooks at anywhere from 185° to 230° for a long time which is what makes the tough cuts of meat juicy and tender. You bake chicken in the oven at temperatures 100° or more HIGHER than smoked meats are cooked. As for other kinds of meat...there are methods such as "cold smoking". Bottom line, Smoked meats don't get cooked at high Temps (compared to baking) and are whole cuts of meat....not processed foods.

surprised to hear about the sun protection on the neck indoors. Actually, every word of this statement makes me chuckle. I am a 60 year old woman, living on the beach, who has never used sunscreen on the neck and very little and random on my face. And everyone gives me 40 y.o. Even if they exaggerate the compliment, I definitely do not buy this sunscreen prayer just looking at myself in the mirror. I shy away from sunscreen for a reason, as I fear more damage from it than benefit (the ingredients)

I"m a new fan of putting sunscreen on your neck; even if it isn't sunny. To make a longstory short. I knew someone who used foundation. As they aged, you could literally see on the skin where the foundation was used quite a bit and where it stopped. I've also seen women who looked great, but their neck gave them away...not their face.

It's me , I've always been told I look young which I'm actually young but I look more childlike is what they mean. As you mentioned my neck gives me away. No one has ever told me anything negative about my neck and they only notice when I mention but still my neck looks way worse than my face and it's playing a bad role on my confidence unfortunately.

I always take a deep, full body sigh when the subject of sleep is discussed 😳 I have been an insomniac since age 6 (perhaps younger but my memories are fuzzier) Along with daily migraines or tension headaches at the same tender age. Ive often wondered how I have survived literally sleepless. I tried Ambien shortly after it was approved and was so grateful for the break from thought! I immediately purchased a coffee maker with a timer! Sleep...a revelation 🧡 Until I developed the side effect of going places with no memory of it ~ Yikes! Bye bye Ambien 😥 Years later I began taking Klonopin for sleep. Still do. I average about 5 hours nightly. I accept that. Of course I began trying what natural remedies were available in college. L-Tryptophan was supposed to be the go to. Nope! (Not on the market anymore. Some negative studies) Then Melatonin, Valerian root, chamomile tea, etc. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing! I will continue my Klonopin. I will never get the requisite 7-9 hours. Yet I cannot express the relief of giving my brain a break. "Sleep knits up the unraveled sleeve of care"~SHAKESPEARE Thanks a million for all of your no B.S. knowledge ♥️

Been on ORAL minoxidil 2.5mg daily for two months…my hair is noticeably thicker and longer…and my blood pressure stopped creeping up. Life changing. Praise God. Of note, I’ve also been eating more throughout the day…I think nutrition and protein intake play a big role. Be careful with calorie counting and restricting diets …your hair and nails need plenty of nutritious food! The key is to exercise DAILY and drink lots of water so that all of the eating doesn’t cause weight gain. Your skin hair and nails need lots of food to stay healthy!

Great video Dr, Dray! As for tea, just wanted to clarify that tea (camellia sinensis) must be consumed around 1 1/2 hours after your meals. Tea is quite high in tannins, a type of polyphenol that directly afffects the bioavailabilty of iron. Tea is a great love of mine and I had to learn to do this because it basically destroys your iron absorption.
