Hitting the driver well is difficult, its low loft and longer length make good drives often harder to come by. For many, this can be made worse with too many swing thoughts which get in the way of their natural ability.
Here i show you how to strip it back and get an easy, simple and natural golf swing thats easy ton use and can work the very next time you play

I spent a lot of time getting rid of anxiety in my life. After successfully vanquishing the beast, someone recommend golf because its so relaxing, you're in nature for hours, and you get to hit little objects really hard and far. Seemed like a win-win. I'm happy to report that thanks to the driver, not only is the full extent of the anxiety back, but also riddled with guilt for all the divots, lawns, and objects I hit/create when using the club.

This week I watched your video and only had 3 days to incorporate into my swing routine. This past Saturday I played the final game of the club season, hit the fairways 100% with great distance. Had the lowest score for the club and won my overall category for the season. Thank you

Dear Chris Ryan. This video changed my driver game from 100% useless to almost perfect, I simply could not hit the ball at all (i'm a newbie, only 6 months in golf) and just the visual aid of thumbs and back of shoulder pointing towards the target in the backswing, was my EUREKA moment. Thank you so much for this. I would recommend this to any newbie trying to hit their driver.

Chris is a rock star. He takes something very complex, gives you a few check points and reminds you to be relaxed and fluid. If you do these things, many other complex movements occur naturally without thinking about them. This is genius and teaching golf at it's best. He should be teacher of the year.

Chris. Thanks for your easy to understand full driver swing. I think this is the one I watched. I’m 62 years old but in excellent shape. I’ve wanted to go back to my full swing after my golf pros instruction to do a half swing which only 50 percent of the time worked to my advantage. I practiced your full swing and hit probably 280 all the way to the back of our range where the half swing would get 230 at the most. And I’m a novice golfer of 5 years.

Gained a lot of confidence in my driver this year. (thanks to some of your videos). Picked my line and swung away. No need for a 3W or driving iron. Felt I could hit my line regardless of how tight the fairway was. Only had to change if I was afraid of driving through the fairway. The season in NY is close to over, so I'll use this to practice over the Winter.

I like this !!! I have been in this situation for the past 2/3 weeks with my driver and too many swing thoughts over the ball and have no idea where the ball will go ( left or right ) I like what you said to feel the smooth swing thought instead of mechanics !! It is a no moment for me and my game even with my mid to long irons !! it us really not good and getting really frustrated and times very 🤬🤬🤬! So this morning going to the practice range and only want work on alignments grip and of course this video ?

My relationship with the driver has always been a contentious one. Recently I’ve stopped trying to swing hard and fast. I’ve simply just started making solid contact with the ball. I started with a half swing and worked from there into a full swing. Seems like the easier I swing the better the result. I may have lost some distance off of my best drive, but consistency has greatly increased, and I’ll take that trade off any day.

Hi Chris, me again. Spent a good deal of time practicing the tips and instructions in this video. When I first tried it, slowly, I immediately felt like I was swinging the club. I’d lost that feeling by spending a long time adjusting to half and three quarter swings. Sadly that made me strike at the ball instead of through it. So, here is the situation. Many videos telling me that I can swing less and hit the ball just as far. I’m going back to full swing tomorrow.

Very clever, subtle. The shoulder thing, full turn, the thumb thing, club face unlikely to be open at top, the shoulder thing, moving forward as you swing as well as rotating and the club on the neck, forces the swing to be a bit higher rather than wrapping low and hooking. When I tried this in the back yard the club kept bumping into left shoulder so I can see a problem there. Thanks can’t wait to get this on the range as my swing has become a collection of 100 thoughts as I battle with this club after hitting a 3 wood off the tee for the first five years of my golf career.

My driver used to be my most consistent club, I had a slight heel-side miss that resulted in a super consistent fade off the tee but typically maxed out at 250 yards. Adjusted the swing to get more speed/distance and now I have an awful toe miss that ends up with a hook when I get out of sync. When I catch one out of the middle it flies, just not nearly as consistent & confidence has dropped

After some lessons with a local pro, my irons have greatly improved. Still a lot of work to do but I am happy with my irons now. My driver has always been inconsistent with a tremendous tendency to slice my tee shots. I have tried many tips I watched on KZfaq but results have been mixed. I start hitting longer and reducing my slices, but then, for no apparent reason I lose control of my drives e.g., hitting the ground first, muffing the shot, or just really poor directional control. So, in summary, my driver is absolutely the club that limits my enjoyment of the game.

Thanks for these excellent videos. This one was not as useful as others because I did not understand the orientation of the “arrow” on your right shoulder. An illustration could have helped.

Driver, 56* wedge and putter are my 3 strongest, easiest to hit, most natural feeling clubs atm. If I could find a course where I only needed those clubs, or if I could hit the driver like Bryson, golf would be easy :)

My thought initially when I started playing was "Am I going to hit the ball in the center of the club", now it has changed to "where is my left hand (right hand golfer) pointing in my back swing". It is a lot better with the latter but its not consistent as I still slice at times

I don’t understand on days I hit the driver well, I hit poor iron shots and vice versa. I know irons and driver shots are different, but my body doesn’t seem to know the difference. Does this swing thought apply to irons as well?
