Amen! I feel like people forget that friendship is so important! Especially in high school, the girls were always too freaked out to talk the guys that they liked. Since I grew up around boys my whole life (brothers), I knew how to act normal around the boys. Sometimes, because of how relaxed I was around them, they would treat me like "one of the boys" and I was never seen as more. But as we grew up, things change. Most guy-girl friendships reach to a point where you either grow closer together and eventually catch feelings, or you grow apart because there is nothing more than just platonic feelings between one or both parties.

help me. i like this guy, he’s really sweet. we recently started snapping and just recently we’ve been actually texting and asking each other stuff (like i wanted to see his pets and told him how cute they were) because i’m trying to become closer friends with him. other than that we talk a lot in one of the lessons we have together, and are normally joking together and if one of the guys (whos a dick) will be insulting me the guy i like will stand up for me and put the guy in his place. since we started snapping, he’s been a LOT friendlier in person and through text. i am not that shy, just not bold. what should i do? anything would help me out :))) we also catch each other staring at one another a lot, and i compliment him every now and then (when i’m bold enough to!)

GUY here, The first 2 are kinda meh not really useful BUT 3 yes for sure, and to all the people saying they want to tell their friend they like them, just do it. The reaction you will get will probably be like “ok cool” but we only say that because its all we can say, butterflies are flying in our stomach and alarms going off in the head, literally can’t function for a few minutes after someone says they like you. Just give it a day or 2 then try to hang out more, don’t push it. Chances are he likes you back and is figuring out how to say it.

Listen extra carefully, that how I’ve made friends and started talking to my guy friend that is now my crush: when you get like close to him in the hallway and you two are walking in opposite directions, stop, and pat his arm and ask what his name is. Introduce yourself and ask what class he’s going to. That’s the foundationnnn then just build trust. It will take a long time. It took me about a year to get my crush fully comfortable with me.

As a guy, while these are all great, but that last one in perticular is really important. Being yourself is what is the most attractive thing about someone. If you be fake about things now, that sows doubt for what's to come further in the relationship as well. Why trust someone who hasn't given a reason to trust them? Plus, it also just feels kind of desperate if you don't feel that you can get a guy by being yourself, have some faith as you totally can.

The way he acts when we’re all together is different than when I’m only with him. He asks me how I’m doing, how’s school, if I’m gonna stay after school (cuz he’s staying too), gives me waaayyy more hugs, teases me, and when he hasn’t got the chance to speak to me, tells me that we should catch up. I told my crush I liked him but since he was in front of his friends he said no after that everyone started to make fun of me for getting ''Rejected'' but my friends still ship me with him, after he left his friends he tried talking to me but everyone was protecting me and hiding me from him (#Goodfriends) but he keeps looking at me in a regret kind of way, WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Also I had to get my friends to tell him bc I had a panic attack. i see comments talking about not wanting to ruin a relationship by asking your guy best friend out. if a guy does not like you and you ask him out, he genuinely most likely will forget that you asked him out in a month because of how little it matters when someone we dont have interest in asks us out. dont be disheartened by this because if a guy is your best friend and is single it is most likely because he *does* like you but doesnt want to ruin the relationship with you because he enjoys your presence so much. also a tip to see if someone likes you or not is if they talk about ex’s or girls they like because if a guy is interested in you then they dont wanna talk about other girls because they want to talk about you and dont want you to get the idea that they want someone else.
