I'm a respiratory therapist now whom always wanted to become an anesthesiologist. I was class president for my a.s and was involved in politics for a while(I hope that sounds good for a med school interview). I'm now in FIU in Miami for pre med (chemistry major) and am super nervous and humbled at the opportunity to finally start the road to my dream. This video was excellent. I've spent endless hours in Barnes and Noble reading mcat books and teaching myself certain concepts. I'm nervous and scared all at the same time because I also have 2 kids, and am not by any means rich but my motivation is so high. Just watching this video makes me cry put of happiness and joy, at the same time makes me nervous because we are not the only ones who feel this way. I graduated respiratory school with a 3.1 but my mentality back then was to pass and my mentality now is to excel. I wish everyone luck to this long and rigorous road. If we have been called to medicine we will do fine, you don't decide to become a doctor because it's easy. We decided to go into medicine because we can't see ourselves doing anything else. Working in the ICU 40 hours a week at night just makes me want it even more! I love medicine and to have the power of healing. I figured because I have a solid foundation of intensive care and cardio respiratory systems which involves lots of chemistry I might have a higher chance at getting into medical school, not sure if this is true, but ahhhhhh good luck everyone!

Anyone can get into medical school. It's not like God designed one human differently than others based on their intelligence excluding prodigies that God blessed. On average, everyone who is not abnormal at birth are capable of learning and can make it to medical school. It's simple, it just takes passion and determination. This passion and determination makes it easier and faster to become a physician.

Very true. Also depends on where you apply. Some schools, such as state schools, receive money for accepting more medical students from the state and neighboring states. So a 3.4 is good and competitive. But places like Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Yale, and Duke will receive a mean GPA of 3.79-3.83 from 7,500 applicants.

I am a freshman in college and am looking forward to becoming a psychiatrist. I am excited to go to med school, but i need a lot of input. This video helped a lot. Thank you for creating this video, you are very wise.

Read about converting kinetic energy into mass...which would increase its weight if a gravitational field was placed on the mass...read up on the large hadron collider
