This worked so well!!!! We got the alarm clock and let her pick our bedsheets. We already had a nightlight and a toy with lights so that did help when she tried to say she was scared. I really surprised you don’t have more followers. Thank you so so much for your advice. I want to try out the recording part but haven’t gotten the supplies for that yet.

I’m so glad things worked for you! Parenting is a big niche, so even though my advice may be different than the norm, it’s hard to get the message out there. Any sharing you do is appreciated! If you need a script for your parent recording, there are sample scripts on my book. The link is in the video. description. Let me know how that works out for you too! Thank you for the comment!

Good tips, will give some of these a try. The problem I’m running into regarding sleeping is that once we get him into bed, sometimes he’s not sleepy (with a 8-9pm bedtime) and will bang on the wall, do the short scream, throw his blanket on the floor, etc. I can tell he’s playing and laughing to entertain himself. I try not to to keep going back into the room to correct him because I feel like I might accidentally encourage his bad behavior by giving him attention (I swear he even likes negative attention because sometimes he’ll laugh when we try to correct him). But the alternative is waiting 30 minutes - 1 hour before he finally settles down and goes to sleep. Sometimes it wakes his sister up next door.

I’m sorry you are struggling. The thing to do is make a plan and stick to it. The plan needs to include what will happen if he doesn’t settle down and go to sleep as soon as he is in bed. Banging on the wall, screaming and throwing his blanket are unacceptable behaviors and he needs to know that. I’m sending you a video that gives exact steps by step instructions on what to do. You need to consider him doing these things the same as getting out of bed. If you are consistent and do exactly as instructed, this should end. Remember it isn’t in his best interest to behave in this way. It is best for him to go to bed quietly and on time and go to sleep as he should. You can do this! See this video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7B1mdylkp3PeJ8.html

@@MommyAnswerLady you mentioned recording the audio on the microphone and editing on your computer and then using that boombox type CD player to play the track? I’m just wandering how to get the audio recording to play on something like that. Do I have to some how get it onto my phone and then Bluetooth to the player? Or make it into a CD? I don’t think my Mac laptop has a CD drive so I’m trying to figure that part out thank you!
@MommyAnswerLady
@MommyAnswerLady 2 жыл бұрын
@@torianderson6043 I see. Most boom boxes have usb plugins now. I was thinking you put it on a thumb drive and plug it in. But you could also use a Bluetooth speaker and a phone or tablet. If it were me, I just wouldn’t use phone because there could be a call come in when the audio is playing in their room! There’s lots of doing different ways to do it. When my oldest kids were little, I did it on cassette tapes! My younger ones I made CDs with a CD burner from my computer. Now I would just put on a thumb drive. Technology may change, but the concept still works! 😊

Hi, mytoddler was falling asleep by us while holding and rocking him around the house. At age of 18m. we started using the stroller in the house and it worked well. Then at 21months we stopped using the stroller , tried transitioning to bed, making routine, but he still demands being taken and rocked + refusing nap time :(. I learned about sleep regression, but im not sure thats exactly that, what can we do? We want to teach him to fall asleep laying in bed and relaxing, but its hard he refuse.

Thank you for asking. There are several other videos on this channel that explain. The trouble is that each thing you do in response to a child’s behavior becomes an expectation and then a habit. You unwittingly formed a habit of dependency on you for your child to go to sleep. U til you change the expectation, the habit will remain. And what will a child do when an expectation is not being met? They will cry. And when they do...what is your response? You must take charge and stop giving in to your child’s demands in order for them to learn go to sleep and to stay asleep independently. Watch this playlist and then lmk if you have questions. kzfaq.info/sun/PL3UBb1ffpIiuiSTIyq6Jlw1xJPPkPUoe5

My son is 1.8 and is very strong willed. I had him sleeping in a play pen up until a week ago. He began to jump out of it and refused to stay in it. He is now in our bed and I need to get him out. He is our fourth baby, we’ve never had this issue with any of our other children. What do you recommend?

Thank you for asking. I'm sorry you are struggling. There are a couple other videos on this channel that will give you step by step instructions on how to handle this. First, I assume since he is still a crib/playpen size child, you would prefer he stay in his enclosure for the night. You can do this. See this video for the answers to that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7B1mdylkp3PeJ8.html There is an entire playlist about bedtime battles that would be helpful and will probably answer all your questions. Here is the link to the playlist. kzfaq.info/sun/PL3UBb1ffpIiuiSTIyq6Jlw1xJPPkPUoe5 If something is not answered, please lmk. I'd love to hear an update after you have tried these things. Thanks for the advice but I'm not gonna take the "you only get an audio recording if you're in bed at a certain time"

You can do what you want. The point of using the recordings is multi-faceted. You can teach them lots things and they will be anxious to get in bed on time. if you don’t want the part that helps motivate them, it’s up to you! But my kids loved it and there was never any problem with them looking forward to bedtime. 😊
