one of the ways you can make getting a mizutsune easier is to use the "the enemy of love" side-quest, which grantees a mizutsune spawns on the map

This works for every Rare monster. But sometimes Quest Spawns overlap with each other so if you want to farm specific monsters dont accept too many quests in the same area :D

I guess they patched it.. because the mizu that spawn under the quest says "This monster cannot be chased back to its den." GEEEGEEEE!

Mizutsune in MH are all male, we never see females. They're like peacocks in that the females aren't so brightly colored.

Yup. All Mizutsune we see are just dudes looking to mate, and we have to go quell the horny away.

From what I heard the females are more gorgeous and colorful than males. Which is why we don't see them because they don't fight for territory or anything they seem more peaceful and hide from being found themselves besides mating for males. But males usually find them. Makes fight for her and the kits they have.

I was farming these Mizutsune eggs and scammed a lot by Purple Ludroth lol since they have same pattern but Mizutsune has a darker color of stripes than Purple Ludroth

The only reason I would recommend newer players use the rite of channeling feature is so they can become aware of how the system works at least for me I'm more of a trial by error kind of person when it comes to customization systems in video games. I could watch KZfaq videos explaining a system and unless I get my hands on it. Then I'm not gonna fully understand it. You can always replace old lower genes with even better genes later for a monster you like later down the line. 👍👍 so I mean you only have things to gain. Not like you have to worry about ruining that awesome rainbow egg Royal Monster you fought so hard for. If a certain skill just isn't cutting it replace it.

So I JUST got to chapter 5, where you are in this video; and only just started it because I wanted to get the Palamute when the update came out yesterday. I have not progressed at all in the story for this and am no where near Mizutsune fight. However I think I glitched my game or something cause while I was doing the Palamute dens I got Mizutsune eggs! I didn't think that would happen but it did, I thought for sure they were Purple Ludroth but they were a little to white compared to the Purple Ludroth eggs; I freaked out when I saw a Mizutsune hatched from the egg!! So happy to have my pretty boi but still so stunned that I got him early by accident!

He's always been like that since Monster Hunter: Generations. We also only fight males we never fight nor encounter females. Females aren't as pretty as the males they are duller in color and have smaller fins. Think of a female Mizutsune like an American Golden Finch. The Males are gorgeous in color while the Females are not~

why do people keep saying her. All the mizutsune that run around in the field are males that are in heat like how black diablos are just females that are either in heat or carrying eggs. Female mizutsune are smaller and don't have as pretty colors like peafowl.

@@wyld3r it's generally worth to have a monstie with at least two attack types in your party so you don't have to constantly switch between them mid-battle when enemh monsters start changing types under specific conditions

-Pro tip- Purple Ludroth will be a "Normal" weight egg. Mizu will be "Heavy" egg.

This is my favorite monster but I will complain about it stats since they seem weird. Like speed as it’s lowest stat I would say it should’ve gone from greatest to least Recovery> Crit rate =Speed> Max HP

So mizutsune cant swim? How important is it to have ride actions like this on your team cause I'm worried about being stuck in a pokemon situation where I'm forced to forgo the team of monsties I want in order to have all the ride actions to bypass and reach things?

Once you hit the second region, I strongly suggest having any monster with jump (like ranmar) and get a royal ludroth for swim. Reach level 20 at some point (yourself and your monsters, bring a tech one for normal moves and a speed one for when it's enraged) and take on the royal tigrex. Get it to retreat using paintballs when it's near death and get one of its eggs for climb skill

Wait I’ve defeated the mizutsune but it’s saying I haven’t defeated it. I went back to the place where I defeated it (Hazepetal garden) and it’s not there? What happened? Is it a bug?

I'm in the same boat. I finished the 'boss Mizutsune' but the regular ones won't spawn anywhere. Edit: Idk, if you figured it out yet, but if you accept the "Enemy of Love" Subquest it forces a Mizustune to spawn near Pomore Garden Catavan Stand. It worked for me. Hope this helps

That’s because it is (probably) All Mizutsune we hunt in the main series are males who are getting all angry and violent because it’s mating season. The females are apparently chill enough to the point where you can walk up to it, pet it for a bit, and leave and it won’t care. Because we hatch these ones out of eggs it could be either gender
