We always get used to the new conditions of our situation. No matter what we achieve, the initial gratification of success subsides and we're back to a default dissatisfaction, unless we learn to better manage our inner dialogues.

I had to learn it's ok to quit. That's I'm not a failure or disappointment for quitting. I did my best and I'm moving on and accepting letting go of something that I should let go. That was a hard battle for my ego

I saved up for an electric bike the other day and a good one at that. But when I started riding it around, I felt ashamed and spoiled like I had it so easy compared to others. Since it was such a huge upgrade from walking to and from work for the last few months. Such a ridiculous feeling

maybe some form of shame for having things that others dont. or feeling like you need to force yourself to be grateful.

There's a saying I developed: "If you can control it, don't worry about it. If you cannot control it, again don't worry about it!" We can only DO so much. Sometimes that's enough, sometimes little effort has great results and sometimes you are just wasting your time. The important thing is ACTION, not thoughts, not feelings, not even intentions.

Thank you for using Mckayla Mulroney on the thumbnail!! I have something in common with her: I was a vaulting specialist too (as a competitive gymnast). She's my second favorite athlete - Simone Biles is my fav!!

Human's nature is we never satisfied. One of the 3 Marks of Existence 😊. The cure for this we need to be happy in little things, we need to be grateful and we need to help those who need help because we can. Also we need minimalism . On comparison is underestimating other people and sometimes putting ourselves in the pedestal or underestimating ourselves and putting other in the pedestal . I read something Life is a DIY approach .

Does anyone else do this? I use shame as motivation. I am very hard on myself when I mess up, but at the same time I am very proud of my accomplishments. It goes both ways. This has worked for me for years and I'm doing well for myself.

You feel negative feelings stronger because enough bad shit happening means you're fucked. It's ok to have some ego because you will want to avoid fucking up your life and others, but have the humility to improve after you've fucked up instead of spiraling into more bad feelings

Pride and a sense of accomplishment is for children. It's it motivates formative self-development in youth, but becomes a problem in adults. The need to feel special and be celebrated is the problem.

There was a quote I saw recently that went like “derive your self-worth from the effort, not the out come”, and I feel like that helps a bit. Like, as long as I am trying and am putting in the effort, then what can you do if the outcome doesn’t come just yet or isn’t what you thought it was gonna be. Just enjoy the process and keep going

Of all the possible examples to pick, McKayla was not the one. She absolutely was capable of gold, just random variance any given day, and her reaction was 100% justified. We like her MORE, not less, for being salty that random variance didn't break her way that event. It was drive and ambition that got her there, and drive and ambition that will serve her well the rest of her life. Anyone using her as an example of toxic disatisfaction is being as dense as a bag of rocks, and I honestly hope that zombie neitsczhe resurrects from the dead just to smack you silly while yelling in German about weak people hating those with drive and ambition. That thumbnail slander is garbage. McKayla is a Godzilla kaiju-sized slayer.

The thumbnail girl is a product of a social environment that all US people met, or even tried and left. She is by far not the average viewer of CW or Gaming Doctor.

Wish that US gymnast wasn’t the thumbnail for this message about accomplishment and self-worth + comparison. She was being horribly abused by the Team US doctor. Larry nassar. I think anyone would feel conflicted standing on the podium with a gold having been through sexual abuse. Let alone at that magnitude and have you place of work hide it for so long. And the FBI.
