Hi Paul, How to get from Munich Central Station to Berchtesgaden is very useful information. The train looks very nice and clean. I thought it would be very difficult to go up and down the narrow stairs at the station with large luggage, but I feel safe if there is a ramp.The room has many windows and the view from the windows is wonderful, and the rooms are very clean. Thanks for nice sharing ! Juli 😊👍

Hi Juli, I hope people wanting to make the same journey find it useful. The trains were very clean and quiet. Walking up and down those steps were fun with all my luggage especially against the crowd. The room at the hotel was very spacious with great views. There will be videos of the places I explored from there early in the New Year. Thank you so much for watching. Have a great Christmas if I don't catch you before 🙂👍Paul

I thought the video would make a good plug for my up and coming videos from Berchtesgaden in the New Year and noted no one on KZfaq had done a video on the journey so I filled the gap. It will be quicker by car but I suspect a bit more expensive, certainly for me anyway, plus no hassle with parking when using trains/buses. All the main attractions in Berchtesgaden can be got to from that bus station and all free with a guest card. Not free really cos you pay 3.15 euros a day tourist tax. Thank you very much for coming along for the premiere. Have a great week 🙂👍Paul

@TheHikingHermit19 күн бұрын
Hi Anna, well from doing a bit of investigation and looking at some video I did on my way from Berchtesgaden to Salzburg it looks like there is no longer a luggage storage facility at Berchtesgaden station. There used to be a sign over the door when going out on to the platforms saying there was luggage storage but I can confirm that sign was no longer there as of August last year. The online map of Berchtesgaden station also doesn't have any lockers indicated. However I am not 100% sure that it doesn't have luggage storage. It would be quite poor if they didn't. @TheHikingHermitАй бұрын
Hi, it only takes a couple of minutes to change trains at Freilassing. The video from 8:27 to around 10:30 shows what's involved in the procedure. You need to go down the stairs from platform 2, take the underpass and head to platform 1. The train for Berchtesgaden may already be waiting when you arrive at Freilassing station. Check the station signs and the signs on the trains monitors telling you its destination to ensure you're on the correct train. I hope that helps, Paul
