This video explains how to get from the city center to Istanbul Airport by metro.
Gayrettepe metro transfer stop was opened on 29.01.2024.
It will now be possible to go from the city center to Istanbul Airport with just one metro transfer.
Travel time between the city center and Istanbul Airport decreased to 40 minutes

@holidayusa098 Hello, Yes, the walking distance may be a little long, but you do the transfer in a closed area, This transfer station has just opened. It is now possible to reach the city center by making 1 transfer.

Thanks a lot for posting this video: I will be in Istanbul in May and staying in taksim. I will definitely take the metro: with the new extension it seems super easy to use and access the centre of the city in less than 1 hour. Take care

Thanks for uploading the Metro journey from Taxim to airport. We will visit Istanbul in mid October. I think we will take a taxi or Havaist bus from airport to Taxim. I don't think we are fit enough to walk inside metro station.

Where i can see details of metro online. How much it cost and untill what time they operate, i will arrive Istanbul airport at 2200 and wants to go to taksim square

@user-cy8sz4hq8z Hello, Taking the metro costs 17.70 TL. M2 metro comes every 7 minutes. The M11 metro comes every 20 minutes. The metro operates between 06:00 in the morning and 12:00 at night.

The Metro looks very modern, but that is not a very efficient way to get to the airport. Too many transfers and way too much walking. Only relatively younger adults can do this especially if youre carrying luggage.
