It may be intentional, but that mount is WAY too soft and lets the engine move around enough to cause shifting problems. Hopefully Toyota improves it on upcoming models

@@teamturner4300 very true, it's especially noticeable on high gear going up hill sometimes. For me it hasn't straight up caused shifting issues yet, but I think I'd rather have my rubber wear out faster than accidentally one day breaking my thin firewall because of a stiff pitch mount.

But it fixes shift “slop”. So you’re also reducing the risk of money shifting under load

It is still harder than the factory bushing, but not as hard as the 80 we used.

I don't have any experience with the Cusco.

There will be a bit more vibration overall. Both at startup and driving. The harder bushings will transmit more of the engine vibration.

@@teamturner4300 I’m talking about I’m seen the issue stock… I’m at 3.7k miles. The whole car shakes more than I’m thinking it should and my 1-2 shifts are jerky more than expected.

@@Faithfps There are several options out there that all seem to be similar. The one I used in the video is nice, but any of them are going to be better than the stock one.

This specific one won't be available until first week of April as the guy that makes them is currently on deployment but there are other companies that make them

Except not really. Toyota botched the duro on the stock mount (too soft, just like the clutch lol); it’s been well known amongst owners for a minute. Personally ran into weird shifting issues out at track days last year, and w/ high-rpm shifting. Caved in and replaced it - zero problems now. Not exactly a ‘must’, but it objectively improves one of the GRC’s design flaws. A rear motor mount also has nothing to do w/ suspension bushings (completely different) or the amount of body roll this car has from stock - which is substantial btw. It’s a hot hatch.

The original mount fails extremely quickly. Usually less than 5k mi even if you're not driving hard. That results in a weird 1-2 shift feel. Like it won't engage second gear smoothly at all. The engine ends up moving around more than it should due to the failed amount and it actually makes you question whether or not you actually know how to drive a manual. 😂 I would say this is definitely a necessary mod, although the less spirited driver should probably choose a softer bushing. The 80a one that we used does transfer a bit of vibration into the car.

You do not need to do this immediately. The oem bushing is not faulty like everyone is saying, it’s designed like that to absorb sound and vibrations, unlike the solid bushing he installed. I’ve had my gr corolla for a year now no problems. First thing you should do is mud flaps

@christopherbassit2757 Thank you. If I end up needing to do it I will. Thanks for the input. I would rather not modify the car if possible. Cosmetic stuff I don't mind doing, but want to keep car mostly stock for a while
