You will loose the variegation if you use leaf cuttings to propagate Sansevieria trifasciata Golden or any variegated kinds. In your video you produced plants having green leaves only. Division of suckers of golden or any variegated Sansevieria is the best way to maintain the variegation. In the case of regular green-leaf varieties you can use leaf cuttings for rapid propagation.

Hi Juanito, thank you for sharing your idea. That is a very useful information and you are right. Propagating snake plants through leaf cuttings will only produce pure green leaf babies :)

No mention that variegation is lost from the leaf method. Just music , It takes about 4 to 5 months for this to happen and the plant will be different in this case. I only do this if I trim a leaf with water not soil to begin, but pups and separation are the best way to propagate a variegated plant.

Hola Marife, en mi experiencia, tal vez el tamaño de la olla que estás usando. Intenta usar una maceta grande para que crezcan muy bien :)

Nice but u could have cut short the repetitions. Yes, I too plant the cuttings. The roots have come but new plant hasn’t come yet . May be it’s little over two months. So will wait.😊. I did not know that I shud keep in shade.

One of the vlogger abroad said that you should not propagate the variegated plants thru leaf propagation because it will revert back to its original color which is plain green.

Hi rommel, in my experience yes, it is correct. It will lose its yellow variegation or stripes. So, it depends on your purpose of propagating the leaf cuttings. :)

Nice results. I have tried the same way in long senseveria yellow edge, but babies were green only even when they got tall they are green only. So did you get the same variety or green only? Plz suggest.

Hi Ferdaus, brown spots on sasevieria leaf may indicate too much sunlight or due to heat. If not, it maybe caused by over watering. In my experience, I only water the sansevieria when they are dried :)

Every time u propagate yellow sansevieria by leaf cutting u get green ones, if u need new yellow sansevieria u can propagate it by dividing only :)

@@lu8201 no, they don't. Leaf cuttings of Sansevieria, regardless of the variegation on the mother plant, always produce green plants, no variegation.
