@@fullofhope2222 Thank you very much for subscribing! For pests, I prefer to prevent and control them before they cause serious damage, like aphids or any leaf eating pests. So I check regularly my plants, and if needed I spray neem oil mix (1 oz of 100% neem oil+1 tsp dish soap in 1 gallon of warm water). Make sure to check and also spray both sides of the leaves and not just top. I hope this helps and thanks again!

Awesome video, but I have one advice as a fellow pepper grower, from my experience it is better to separate peppers earlier in the seedling stage before they entangle their roots with other seedlings, this can make a significant difference in early grow specialy in hot peppers that are harder to grow, I find if I do this my pepper plants are twice as big as yours at 4 weeks

Great video love the fact that you put the timeline on...thought something was wrong with my peppers taking so long to flower, ...add some fertilizer and lots of peppers.
@TowardGarden
@TowardGarden Жыл бұрын
You are right on both issues. The timeline only serves as a guideline. It will defer from season to season and plants to plants on same variety. And fertilizer will help plants grow and produce fruits better. Glad you love the video and thank you so much for your comment!

I love how thorough you are when explaining. Can you please do a video on lavender from seeds? I have found them to be very difficult to germinate.
@TowardGarden
@TowardGarden 2 жыл бұрын
So glad that you love my videos. Actually I have started some lavender but since it is a perennial, the video won't be ready soon. The key to germinate lavender seeds is the light. Cover seeds very very lightly and provide a strong light source. Seeds are very slow to germinate and might take up to 4 weeks, so be patient. Also, try not to overwater them, you just need to keep seed soil moist, but not soggy. I hope this helps and thank you very much for your comment!

@@TowardGarden what about echinacea purple, I've tried starting these seeds the last 2 years without any germinating
@TowardGarden
@TowardGarden 2 жыл бұрын
@@Legend-sl9bn The key in germinating pepper seeds is temperature. You have to keep the soil warm at 70F to 80F. Also make sure your seeds are not old. Old seeds have harder shells and water cannot penetrate to germinate. I hope this helps and thanks for visiting!

@@TowardGarden 🫑👀**UPDATE** 😄 as of today, my sweet bell pepper plant 🫑 is 15 inches tall, it has branched out significantly and yields 60 flower buds!!!!!! There are 12 flowers blooming right now, 3 fell off :( and I just learned about self pollination. I moved my pepper plant indoor due to weather dropping to 40 F at night. So now, I need to self-pollinate or shake it. This is my first plant and I'm having so much fun growing it indoors!!! I live in a tiny apartment with a schoolmate who like to plant as well. This project has brought us so much joy.

@@TowardGarden 🫑👀**2nd UPDATE** 😄 This morning I checked, the plant is 16 inches tall, 🫑🫑2 small baby peppers ~0.8 in are growing, and 8 smaller baby bell peppers are growing along side with it!!!!! This makes me tremendously happy. I look forward to my plant every morning. 🙂It also helps me and my schoolmate learn NOT to waste foods. We ate all the produces that we purchased this year. That is our goal for 2023. No herbs, fruits, veggies go to the waste bin so far and we aim to keep it that way.

Very good video. Most viewers want to see the whole process from start to finish but most videos just show one step or another. This is a very valuable video as far as I am concerned. One suggestion though, it may help viewers even more if you let us know what USDA zone you are in and when in the year that you did each of these steps. Thanks again for putting this pepper gem together.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I already mentioned in different comments across my channel that I am in zone 9b. Just a quick note that my videos are being watched in many different countries and not just US, so the USDA don't apply to them. Also, I am trying to include when to start seeds and everyone can do their calculation on the time frame, but will try to be more specific. I really appreciate your comment!

USDA zones are just a bureaucratic way to say your minimum temperature in a normal winter. And winter minimum is generally not relevent to growing annuals.(Or perennials as annuals such as these chiles.)
