🌱 In this video we share with you how we grow Pea Microgreens at home using our Deep Sprouting Tray Kit that we sell on www.onthegrow.net !! These Microgreens were grown directly on our Kitchen Countertop, without any grow medium at all. And we utilized the LED light from our All-In-One Grow light kit to grow them!
If you want to grow Pea Microgreens using this kit, all you need to do is buy your favorite seeds from your favorite seed supplier, and you are ready to start growing!! Our personal favorite Pea Seed varieties are Dwarf Grey Sugar Snap Peas, Speckled Peas and Tendril Peas. The ones we grow in this video are the Dwarf Grey Sugar Snap Pea variety.
If you’re curious to know more about growing microgreens, we have an article linked below that discusses this further! The kit in this video is sold on our website www.onthegrow.net & on Amazon through our brand: On The Grow, direct links are linked below. Seeds are sold separately!
Happy growing y’all, we hope you enjoy this video and our new shorter format!

I love your videos but have maybe a recommendation for the future. I love growing pea sprouts but they can be tougher to eat than other sprouts and definitely are not good on sandwiches which i aways put sprouts on. So i wonder if you can maybe give recipes or ideas on what to use specific types of sprouts on. Thanks much!

Glad to hear you love our videos! And thank you for the suggestion. The pea microgreen variety that I'm growing in this video would be a great match for you, its called "dwarf grey sugar snap peas", and they are a much more tender stemmed pea than other varieties. They are actually what we primairly grow now for Pea Microgreens. As for using peas on sandwiches, I've found that the best option is to cut the tops (leafy area) off and use them, and then save the stems for stirfrys, or adding to soups for flavor!

Ah ok, I'll check out that variety for sure. I have two different types and both are great on salads but terrible for sandwiches, my guilty pleasure is a mound of sprouts on a bahn mi bun with other quick pickled ingredients. Do you or anyone else know of some good resources for using all these sprouts on dishes? I started growing them for sushi rolls originally and then got into all the radish sprouts which changed my world! Started replacing diakon with different radish sprouts. Anywho yer guy's videos put me down a deep rabbit hole haha, and I love it!

I've been growing abundant pea + sunflower micros using your 5-pack reg tray set. Should I try the deeper ones? It's SO nice not dealing with coco/soil and eating right away w/o having to wash. I have 1020s on a rack w/ lights but finding growing on your trays more enjoyable and easier! They're just sat next to my kitchen window that doesn't even get great sun and they do well every time!

Hey. The leftover's are grate Chicken feed. Or A nice and fast composter.

Exactly! We compost ours since we do not have chickens (yet). We know some people who trade the leftovers for eggs, and others that feed their rabbits with them. Ton's of wonderful ways to use the leftovers!

Have you tested using water only vs nutrient water for pea shoots? In my experience the difference is huge but I wish to see your results.
@OnTheGrow
@OnTheGrow 9 ай бұрын
Yes! In the past, we used to do a lot of nutrient experiments and almost always saw a big increase when using nutrients! I'll see about doing a mini test soon for peas 🫛 ☺️

Do you recommend the deep tray kit for the sunflower m'greens too? Debbie in WA Ü

Yes! Sunflowers would grow great in it, I would suggest using the Silicone Medium that our kit comes with. I'm currently working on a video for it right now too :)

In the long run everything there is edible even the roots correct?
@OnTheGrow
@OnTheGrow 9 ай бұрын
We do not eat the roots, some people say that they do, however, for human consumption we still feel weary of eating them due to flavor as well as more of a potential for pathogens. Really the best thing to do is research it first, and make the right call for yourself.

I figured clients want the green , not the stalk so much
@OnTheGrow
@OnTheGrow 9 ай бұрын
Some Pea varieties naturally get stalks. If you're growing to sell, then you can cater your grows to your clients' needs. Some chefs like just the leaves, others will say different. We grow for personal consumption and use the leaves for salads and Sandwichs, etc... whereas the stalks are used for stirfrying and adding flavor to soups.
