In this episode, I show you how to wire in vtec, knock, and IAB for a 92-95 Honda Civic while using a obd2 integra engine harness with all obd2 sensors. You can do this yourself following these steps!

mate I have been looking for a video that goes in depth into a b18 eg swap and this is by far the best video I have watched yet thank you so much. You have cleared up so much for me and keep the good work up. would rate 10/10.

Man you sick with your videos like the attention to details and make so easy. Man I wish I never sold my Honda Civic cause I thought it was difficult to put a gsr in it. But love the video glad I subscribe to your channel.

Did you have to use a obd2 to obd1 ecu adapter harness? I wired the eg vtec, pressure, and knock, but how do I use the GSR p72 ecu if the plugs are for a eg ecu? Need help boss thanks
@travisgallegos93632 жыл бұрын
Ok so I rewatched your ecu part of the video. So you’re running a “obd1” EG hatch with ecu, just wiring in the vtec etc. so I can run my obd2 GSR motor with the eg ecu as long as I wire in those pins?? And let’s say I WANTED to run my GSR ecu. Should I then get a adapter harness? Would it even run well going the second option??

@@travisgallegos9363 I'm using a obd1 gsr ecu on a obd2 engine. There aren't any adapters that I know of that go from obd1 to obd2 ecu. Obd2 also utilize additional sensors that you'll have to add in order to run the obd2 ecu

@@hondaresource throttle has them online. You plug in your eg obd1 hardness in a block and on the other side the obd2 connection. Think it’ll work if I wire up the vtec and everything like you did to the obd1 stuff?

Great series! So is the wiring you did necessary if I am using an OBD1 ex harness on an OBD1 GSR with stock intake manifold? I will be running s300v1 on a p28

no wiring necessary in your case if your car is already vtec. You will have to bypass the iab though since you wont be using it.

Would these steps be the same for a ls vtec for 98 integra Ls obd2a? Gsr head with skunk2 intake manifold, Ls b18b block obd2a stock engine harness, Nice job BTW made it look too easy lol

@@hondaresource yup lol I had bought a gsr head about 3 years ago and took it to my local machine shop got a 3 angel valve job new seals basic factory rebuild and it just been in here covered up I have a p28 with v3 hondata installed, my ls runs pretty good 185 compression dry and 190 wet across all cylinders 178,645 miles

@@danidpassportintegra5371 basically you just have to wire in vtec. Pin location on the ecu will be different because yours is obd2..... Well unless you are wiring it directly to the p28. In that case pin location would be the same. You only need to run the 1 wire for the vtec solenoid. The pressure sensor can be turned off with the s300

@@hondaresource thanks for the info 👍, the reason why I have been procrastinating on my build is because this integra is my only vehicle and with my luck I might mess something up, there's a shop in my neighborhood that quoted me $1200, to do it for me but even then there turn around time was atleast a week plus 300 for the dyno tune,

Just subscribed! I'm about 90% finished with my first gsr swap (first engine swap really) and was looking online for info. Wanted to ask for a OBD1 B18C1 to 93 SI. It shouldn't need any extra wires since it's already vtec or is there some sensor I have to add? The swap from a 0bd1 gsr so was planning to also use the equipment from the integra or should I stick with the civics ?
@hondaresource3 жыл бұрын
You'd have to add the wiring for the iab and knock if you choose to keep the original p72 ecu

my integra is obd2a, I want to swap in a stock b18c1 obd2b with harness & ecu, will I have to do the same thing considering my car is non vtec? any help is appreciated, thanks.
@hondaresource3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you will have to fun a couple wires to the ecu from the shock tower plugs. You will need either a) OBD2a p72 ecu, b) OBD2a to obd2d jumper to use the original p72 ecu, or c) OBD2a to OBD1 jumper and use an OBD1 p72 equivalent ecu in order to properly operate the engine.
