How to Hand Paint Mottled Fabric. Fiber Designs by Ann will show you how to easily create mottled fabric.
It's easy with Terial Magic, a spray stabilizer, and textile paint on fine cotton fabric.
Supplies/Tools
Work on a surface that can be wet and painted
3/4" soft artist brush (I call it soppy)
Container/palette with sides for water and paint
Mist bottle and clean water
Terial Magic Spray Stabilizer
100% Cotton fabric (fine and white)
Jacquard Textile Color and/or Setasilk paints
A heat tool or drying time
Iron and ironing surface

Love the technique, So simple but a new ways to do tie dye. The use of starch in textile fabric is better way to explore. Will try and see with many other technique and colors to see what can be achieved from it.

Fantastic tutorial. I am learning how to paint cotton fabrics to sew my own shirts; and mostly I found the Shibori style of paint. Your process is very easy and effective in terms of mixing the colors on the fabric, creating a artistic look . What is the wrinkle kind of plastic on the button and where to get or could I used wrinkled aluminum foil instead???? Thank so much

Thank you. Sewing your own shirts from your own painted fabric - that's great! In this video I'm working on a wax paper covered board. I wrinkled the fabric up after I treated it with Terial Magic, which may be purchased online (not sure it they ship outside the US). In another one of my videos; titled "How to make Hand Painted Fabric, I tilt and paint fabric on a wrinkled (Trimaco’s SuperTuff® Double Guard) drop cloth. I think the tilt painted fabric would make nice shirt fabric too. I hope this helps.

No, è diverso dall'amido acquistato in negozio. Forse l'amido spray fatto in casa funzionerebbe, ma non l'ho mai fatto. Spero di aver capito la tua domanda. grazie.
