I then knew I would have to hard reset my phone. When I followed the directions to the t, it never worked. I just figured my timing was off. That wasn't the case at all. The directions that they wrote were just wrong. So I was trying to follow their directions for about 30 minutes until I decided to just Google a video on how to. It worked on the first try. So thank you very much!!

0:30 So that was my mistake. A relative gave us 2 used/old LG phones and I managed to reset one of them, but the other keeps asking for a pin. The pin codes given by the previous owner don't work. But there's still hope if I can verify through their email at some point. Thanks for the helpful content!

Select Settings select Systems. Select Reset...should erase.and reset to factory ...worked for me...a lot easier than pressing the off and volume buttons..etc...
