If your Stereo wiring is cut or there is no wiring harness available, you might have to do a hardwire install for your new aftermarket head unit. In this video we show you how to identify wires and hook up to them correctly. We also go the extra mile and install a factory style plug and solder in order to make future wiring jobs much easier.

hello there , thanks for the great video! so i went to my near local radios shop to hook up everything for me with my new after market stereo and it worked for 2 months then the stereo stopped working. ( i think the watts on it were higher than the car can handle 80x4w ) my problem is with my constant/memory yellow wire it has 0 volts all the time no matter the car is running or not.. my red acc wire , black ground wire and the fuses on the car and the stereo are totally fine please do you know how i can fix the yellow memory wire?

If you have RCAs that are labeled sub, that's the one you want to hook up your sub woofer amp to. It will only put out lower tones that you set the head unit to.

when I measure with my multimeter I get a 12 v constant reading from a red wire(seems fine) then I get a 6.77 from a white wire(which when I turn the key on ignition falls to 4.77 wtf!!! I guess that is the acc 12 v and something is wrong with it...) and then there is a third wire that shows a reading 0.80 or something like that I guess that is the antenna color is white with a black stripe... any ideas what I am dealing with here? its a FIAT IDEA 2006 model! the stereo unit is turning on sometimes for a second or two and then goes dead... and then does it again but it rarely happens its mostly dead... because of insufficient power I guess... by the way i found no broken fuses anywhere... they all seem to be ok! and those are all the 3 positive wires so I cant think anything else the 4th is ground

@@AnthonyJ350 I went to a technician to get an opinion. He informed me that my car has no acc 12v by factory. He said there are cars that don't have this wire at all and I will have to extend and use some other wire. For now I created an extension of 12v constant and I made out of it 2 constants I unplug the unit for now until I come up with a better idea. Because even if I turn it off with the button it still shows time and date and I have no idea if this could drain my battery. Thanks for your response anyway!

OK, I admit I should have used a pro but I thought, "how hard can it be?" I tried to install a new double din apple car play radio in my daughters car. It is in and working but it wont turn off! I have the power connect to the constant 12V and the ground to ground. Where I think I messed up is that I connected the accessory wire from the new raid to a wire that is 12V when the car is off, but 3V when the care is on. The only other wire that I could use is one that powers up to 6V when I turn on the headlights. I'm stumped but I feel like I am 98% there. Can anyone help? This video was a huge help!

@@AnthonyJ350 Unfortunately, the original harness was gone and the wires were cut. I followed this video to ID - constant, ground, speaker wires. The last few I could find with power were the one I have connected to the accessory wire to the radio is at 12V when the care is off and drops to 3V when care is on. There are 2 other wires that show 6V when I turn on the lights then drop down to 0 in 5-10 secs. I appreciate your brain on this!
