We both have ADHD and Autism in our house, the way we tackle Christmas is: No gifts. We generally buy what we want/need at the time and buying things for the sake of it just makes the place more cluttered. In the weeks before Christmas we put together playlists of christmassy music, movie watch-lists, dig out some old hobbies that lie forgotten across the four corners of the house and plan to enjoy them together. We generally have the energy for one Big Thing each day, so we do our Christmas Cooking on Christmas Eve. That's our activity, and we can chill after it's all done. The following day, Christmas Day itself, the cooking is already done and you only need to reheat it. More time and energy for Fun Christmas Activities. Boxing Day is Visit Day, and we still have leftovers to just bung straight in the oven when we get home. No decorations, or minimal decorations. I would not take them down, ever. We use scented candles, music and coloured lighting with only a handful of other, small ornaments. Takes five minutes to put out and put away.

I have no family at all. I changed my last name and moved away. They are pure negative and told me I had Problem I'm nasty etc. I went out along and got my Autism and ADHD diagnosis. Christmas this year will be moved into a new home with my rescue babies. I will cook. Christmas dinner for each of us as we watch Christmas films and I count how many times they rugby tackle the tree down lol. I can't handle the stress and omfg. I love being single and alone with my babies No humans in the way and I'm finally on the correct medication. I can for the 1st time in my life say. I'm happy being me. 🥰🥰🥰😻😻 I love your videos. Lol.. Yup I have everything on my visual phone calendar reminding me to do everything. Merry Christmas everyone xxx

The gift bag idea has literally just saved Christmas for me! Never thought of doing that, I literally have to set aside a whole day just to wrap presents! Thanks for the great tips. Merry Christmas to you and everyone else. 🎅🎅❄❄🎄🎄

Last year I gave the gifts in the Amazon boxes they arrived in. Classy. This year I only just remembered to order gift bags today.

I think I'm going to have a talk with my family before the next Christmas to not buy presents. I just want one year where I don't have to stress about it. (Buying for everyone, not forgetting things, and then trying to find room for things gifted to me) It sounds so selfish, but every year is so stressful that I dread the holiday every year.
@kristy9337

You aren't selfish. But, take a quiet moment to really THINK about how blessed you are to have a family. Spending Christmas alone is horrible. Tweek the things that stress you out- it's your Christmas so make it how you want it. Cheers🙂

I actually enjoy gift wrapping. I choose one evening fo it and put on a favourite dvd, or some Christmas music, and just have fun. I have a cuppa to hand, and a snack and hyperfocus. Of course, if the phone rings, i tend to have a bit of a tantrum on whoever called, so i can text people beforehand: hey, I'm wrapping gifts. Don't call this evening, please.

I had a little worse. My parents didn’t celebrate all the holidays. So that kind of made me an outcast, we didn’t say the pledge of allegiance.. we went to church three days a week. I always had a problem sitting still, and that was not good.

Does anyone know if you should have notes of what issues you have if you try to get diagnosed? Or go in unprepared? I don’t want to assume I have it too much if that makes sense.

No doubt it's alcohol is my problem for christmas or any time and it's ruining my life the feeling I get when I'm drinking my wife just don't understand well she does but she doesn't like it it changes me completely. I live in the UK like yourself and it's a 2-year waiting list to get an assessment for ADHD. I just paid £1,700 to go private I get tested in February hopefully medication can change my life. Thanks for the information you just gained the subscriber👍. Quick question when I get my medication will it stop my desire for drinking? Oh and I'm 39 years old 🙈. If anyone could answer this for me it would be so appreciated more info the better lol ❤️👍

It's different for everyone, but I have been able to stop drinking and smoking weed daily by using stimulant meds. In a good place with Ritalin atm, but it's a journey. Ditching caffeine is an absolute must for me when on meds.

@@c4pt4in111 congratulations on your success that would be amazing if I could just regulate my emotions by using medication. I find it so difficult and once I start drinking I cannot stop and it changes who I am like if someone just pushed the power button and my behavior just goes through the roof and it seems any special occasion seems to be a trigger for me to feel more excited then I drink to calm myself down but probably makes me worse🙈. I'm going to try not to drink at all over Christmas so I don't spoil my wife Christmas once again🙈. I also think I suffer with RSD which is quite common when you have ADHD.

@@itsonlymeok It's very very difficult with holidays and weekends. When I drink, I will use ANY excuse to keep going. As soon as I found a reason, and I would manage this daily, I could already feel the dopamine calm me down. Just the promise of alcohol almost did the trick... but not quite ofcourse... Stimulant meds can help me keep focussed on other things (creative work usually) to get over that hump. I really hope it helps you too!

Hey, if you are not saved, and would like to be included in the rapture of the church. Believe that Jesus's death on the cross, was enough to pay for ALL your sins , yes ALL ,(past, present and future) That is what the Gospel is about. We are saved by GOD'S amazing grace, through our faith in Jesus's sinless life, death on the cross and resurrection 3 days later . No additional works needed. It is literally that simple.
