Yes Its true..these and Repetitive recapitulation of same thing causes overreaction..which others find minor..but for person concerned its the ISSUE... ONE has to be on guard...for what can cause we can't say😮 These kind emphathic individuals... Have to get reassurance...slowly they get better...

I just found out and I’m 54 years old.I always thought I was different. And my mom called me stupid. My mom just didn’t know what was going on .The VA helped me with identifying ADHD but so far none of the medicine has helped yet. I will keep on trying to find the right medicine that will help.

I've heard these tips before and unfortunately, they don't work. When you have more time to do things, you relax more, and become more inefficient in how you do things. So it just ends up taking more time to perform the same tasks, then you fall behind schedule (again) and you're late (again) and now even more discouraged because in addition to being late you've wasted time.

I trained my adhd brain with brown noise/layered with rain, shower, and or blow dryer (NO LOOPS, that's too distracting to me) at 30 min chunks closing my eyes for a while before going again. After 30 mins I tend to get sleepy. I've been doing it for years and now I'm getting better at reading with distractions.

How do people afford those diagnoses though? Actually looking it up they seem super expensive (at least for someone that doesn't currently have a great income). Like I want to get tested so that I can stop thinking about this and know "for sure" if I have it or not. 🥲

I have hissy fits when things i do go wrong, then start verbally beat myself, And im 63 now, Ive never matured, and until 3 years ago, i was a bus driver of 36 years, the first 25 years in London. Ive have inappropriate reactions to situations, i'm also autistic, ive recently been badly scammed, cos of my autistic trait of being a bit gullible and the adhd impulsiveness and dopamine rush . ive had CBT therapy for this and my current anxiety and depression, it hasnt helped at all, nothing has.

There are more symptoms to ADHD besides kids not listening to their moms and jumping all over the place. A lot of women use it as an excuse when they have no control over their kids. However, all that goes away when dad comes home from work doesn't it?

This fully describes my husband and my son also!😢 I tried to get a diagnosis for my son at school, he is also profoundly deaf, and I know he was not tested correctly due to this in the mix. My husband recently read an article and came to me and said’ that’s me!’ So I did some research and OMG so much has clicked into place and makes sense. It’s been a damn hard road for all concerned!

i do that thing with weighing food. My view is if I am taking the trouble to measure then I should measure it exactly. I wouldn't eat it, I would put it back in the original container or throw the excess. When coding, I can write a function or method that will work perfectly well but I know there is a better way to write it. It won't make any significant difference to the performance and the output will be exactly the same but I know there is a better way - the right way. I cannot forget about it. I have to "fix" it or I can't move on.

it sucks when people don't realize that others have these kinds of symptoms and suffer due to their early childhood and circumstances and they just tell you you're dumb when they're the ones being dumb for not understanding that and then I'm here thinking about it being even more dumb, it like a self-awareness paradox that cursed me because these thoughts don't really lead to any productive action in a world that's built upon materialism.

Strangely, once I was diagnosed and treated, my marriage started to fall apart. I became less willing to tolerate my partner treating me badly. I say it’s strange because every other part of my life improved, including home and finances. I became more able to trust my gut. When somebody shows you who they are, believe them (over what they claim).
