Siempre al hacer este trabajo..tienen que fijarse que el rayado del cilindro queden cruzadas..sino el aceite saldra por el colector de escape..( rayas cruzadas )

Yep I fuccin learned that on a Subaru. Fml. Can it be done with pistons still in but lowered as far as it can? It's a nightmare trying to get the pistons out of the h4 motors

@@johnjoe9918 Absolutely not. Pistons have to come out. Otherwise you won't be honing the full bull evenly.

@@austinlane5533 I used the three blade honing tool but I didn't use the ball hone. Some people are telling me I should have used the ball hone. I still have oil getting past the heads and dumping out the exhaust

I know it isn't cheap, regardless of your project but I'd start with pulling pistons and seeing what shape your cylinders are in. If it has a bump or if it's out of shape you can't fix that with a simple hone. And it'll eat rings and possibly piston skirts until it's a fixed trued bore. Honing does more harm than good if you aren't familiar with it. My local machine shop only charges $50 for a 4cyl honing. $50-100 isn't worth the risk of having to tear back down and start over.

@@austinlane5533 my local shop said $120 to tear it apart and see what's going on and then prices go up from there. I asked how much it would be if they need to hone it out and he said $350-$400

The only thing that I'd add is measure, measure, measure, a bad taper, is worse than a bad hone job.

Nothing about the cross hatch angle, and 220 grit stones are way to coarse for any modern ring and cylinder finish. 320 to 400 grit ball hone medium speed fast stroke, 30 to 45 deg. cross hatch. Clean with ATF till white paper towels come out clean. No need to remove any medal just remove GLAZE and reestablish proper cross hatch, and Bob's your uncle.

Wrong 220 is perfect for chrome and cast rings. Also this method should be used first period. Ball hones will form to the miss shape of the cylinder also. Never ball hone unless you know bore is even top to bottom. 🤘

@@gregl5677 Fixing an opposed briggs. I asked the local small engine guy he showed me the same tool in the vid (220 grit) said he did 100s of them. He uses 3 n 1 oil.
