Dear Professor, thank you so much for your clear and simple description. When I try to click the label button there is no such a word in the option. There are other options like English language, local language that I used to translate and XML values and header. How can I get the label? please.

Hi Hirut. The interface has changed a bit but no worries. Just go under downloads, select “SPSS labels” and under value and header format select “XML values and Headers”. Then export and download. Then go to the select export type and select “XML” then under value and header format select “XML values and Headers”. Then export and download. So you should have 2 files now. Then follow the process to import into SPSS and you should be good to go. Let me know how it goes.

While selecting export type, I picked SPSS Labels but there was no "label" in the Value and header format dropdown. All I saw were English, French and XML values and headers. Great question. Launch your SPSS and click on file >> Open >>> Syntax. Another way is to double click on the syntax file that was generated from the kobo server. I hope this helps?

Dear Professor, I appreciate you for your quick response. You are a great person and dedicated to helping those in need. Really thank you. In the Select export type button, I could not get "XML" but XLS, CSV, GeoJSON, SPSS Labels, CSV (legacy), GPs coordinates (KML), XLS(legacy), and Media Attachment(ZIP) are found. Under the value and header format, there is XML Value and Headers.

Hi Hirut, you are on the right path. Just select the XLS and then under the value and header format select “XML value and Headers” then export. With this you will have the excel file that you can import into SPSS. Then you can get the SPSS labels 🏷️. I will create a document to guide you if you still have issues by tomorrow. Cheers

Great question! Change the name of the file to a shorter name and try again. Otherwise just unzip the folder to your desktop and use it from there

No worries Biniyam☺️. You need to first select SPSS-LABELS under the “select export type” if you don’t select SPSS-LABELS then you won’t be able to see the option “labels” under the “value and header format options. I hope this helps?
