The tricky thing with these internal rotation hip mobility drills is a lot of the force gets translated into the MCL. They can screw up your knees. So if you feel knee pain doing these, find a better way.

I’m not too big on the perfect walking/sitting/stance etc, I’m more as long as you can move your joints fully the ways they’re supposed to and are stable then day to day move whatever way you like really 😄

Thanks for pointing out that one should push the knee down less far if poor internal hip rotation pushes the stretch into the knee. My left hip has very little internal rotation; my right hip is much better. It seems unnecessary to spend much time on my right hip. With regard to the first stretch, would it be possible to do both legs at once, pushing the knees down towards the center?
@TomMorrison4 ай бұрын
Can do both at the same time, wouldn’t be forcing it all the way to the ground tho, too much stress on the knee

@riellymorton7 ай бұрын
My left knee hurts. I’ll feel bad for your right while you can feel bad for my left lol I found bringing the foot in a little closer and not ego stretching helped a little. While also tucking the pelvis so that the lower back makes contact with the ground.

Sometimes the inside of my hip will lock when I’m in a sitting position at a desk. It’s so painful to stand straight up. Has this got to do with it flexibility I know I have some arthritis.
@TomMorrison4 ай бұрын
Oh yeah if you start to move it more and improve the strength of your hips overall it should stop happening, wouldn’t be writing everything off to arthritis really

@TomMorrison7 ай бұрын
Possibly, or your hips are very tight so your knees are compensating for them! Try this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/apija9eUqJ-WoYU.htmlsi=EtyMNjB0TZz59Qz8

A fitness instructor told me that one of the "forbidden " stretches was the hurdler stretch. What's your opinion on it?❤
@TomMorrison8 ай бұрын
It’s like anything really, some stretches require you to have a certain level of flexibility first to be able to do so that’s the only reason they would need avoided. A lot of our content is to get people to a level that they can do any stretches like that safely, so if you can do the 90/90 position comfortably then the hurdler is ok to do 😄

Can you explain please what's happening to the hip joint when you can't sit up straight in 90/90? It feels like there's a blockage, more so on my right side
@TomMorrison8 ай бұрын
Can be the shape of your hip or a learned pattern just from it not being addressed for years, your brain can almost deem the range as not safe, mainly it’s just gradual and consistent exposure to it and it will improve, very rarely do I meet someone that doesn’t make a change to it, some people can just take 6 months to a year to make a noticeable lasting change

You can't force your hip into internal rotation, the muscles have to activate in specific orientation to do this. Good luck with this.
