How to Improve SEO with HubSpot Topic Clusters

The HubSpot topic cluster model is a game-changer for improving the SEO of your content, specifically on your blog! But what are HubSpot topic clusters and how do you deploy this strategy? We’ll show you how in this video.
When you write for keywords alone, you have to write a post for all long-tail variations of keywords which has proven to be very time-consuming. In HubSpot topic clusters model, each cluster covers a different topic. Pillar content then links back to each cluster topic and links back to the pillar page.
Using topic clusters in HubSpot improves the architecture of your site, making it easier for Google to find related content, and boost search engine visibility.

Is it okay to internally link the cluster posts. Or just stick to internally linking the cluster posts to the pillar page?

So the pillar page links to the cluster page while the cluster page links back to the pillar page. Is it important to use the same hyperlinked keyword each time? If yes, could you give an example? Thanks, your videos are soooo good!

+Jon Porreca no, you don’t have to use the same link text. Ideally, you’d want to make it contextually relevant. Would you want to post some examples of content you’re working on and we can chime in?

I am still confused about linking articles. Is the linking happening from both sides? I mean linking pillar content to cluster content and also linking cluster content to pillar content. Or only linking from cluster content to pillar content.

Both ways. This strengthens SEO but also makes it easy for visitors to move around

You want the links to go both ways. From your pillar page to cluster content and from the cluster back to the pillar page. Here is a helpful article from HubSpot on Pillar pages: blog.hubspot.com/marketing/what-is-a-pillar-page

+Ian Orford hey Ian / we assume you mean the time stamps in the description? If that’s the case, you can just put the time stamps in and youtube will automatically link them for you when it’s published! Nifty little trick!

HubSpot Hacks NO 😂 I mean the 'table of contents' in the articles in the video. They clearly show hyperlinked TOC's at the top of the article. Do you use a plugin or HTML code to generate them?

Thanks for the video! OK so we've established that the internal links go both ways between the pillar page and the individual blog posts. But what about linking between blog posts or several blog posts under the same topic cluster?

You can send links to other blog posts, but the purpose of a topic cluster is to improve the SEO of the pillar page, so the blog post links should point to the pillar page.

Are you suggesting to create a webpage (not a blog post) on the main topic, then create blogs or articles to link back to the webpage topic?
