Nice video, have you tried putting a box end wrench or socket over screwdriver handle for leverage on tough screws. Probably good idea to flush out valve before hooking up to washer. Thanks for the video.

I just bought the exact same valve to replace the old one. Doing a remodel as well, old valve wasn’t leaking but handle is stuck. Good to know that I may need to use the old screws. Thanks for the video! Fingers crossed over here. 🫣

Thanks for the video. It really helped. I have the same washer box unit and value and I am just flipping to to face the other way to have the washer in the other side of the wall. This video was great to see the process. I will need to take the washer box out and flip it the other way also. :)

So could you do about as well with a set of O-rings and just replace those? I've got a valve where one side won't shut off, and maybe I should try that first.

Is it a dual-valve? If the valve won't shut off it is possible to corroded to just replace the O-ring. But yes you can just replace just the O-rings. They sell a rebuilding kit. let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching.

Mines a black handle one and it started leaking after removing old washer and dryer is that normal for a few days or should i replace valve

I would, you probably broke something loose in the valve when you shut it off to move the washer and dryer. Try to do it yourself. Good luck.

I have seen those same Valve on different brands are they interchangeable

I can’t be 100 percent sure if they are all interchangeable. I know that the screws don’t have the same thread pitch as the original screws that I had to reuse. Thanks for watching.

I do the same thing as you, just swap out the part with a the new one and yes I have to use the old screws (because why would we not manufacture the same exact size as years past...so annoying).

The replacement valve is a knockoff of the Watts brand valve that's in the wall. The threads on the screws in the new valve are metric or a fine thread.

Mine is stuck on, I took off the screws and used PB blaster and hit it a few times with channel locks and the damn thing still won’t come off.

@@highimpact5563 did the screws come all the way out? Try tapping it lightly with a hammer. You may want to try some heat. Good luck!

@@fixitjohn yes the screws came out no problem and yes I tapped it with a pair of channel locks and also sprayed it with Pb blasters, it’s kinda like Wd40 and it’s still stuck.

I have the exact same setup. I don't have any tools that fit. I guess i gotta buy a stubby screwdriver. I tried using a tool i had and the flathead tip broke. The screw won't budge.

The handle is red because it's not a Watts brand valve, you replace a genuine Watts or Symmons valve with the original brand. If it's a knockoff up and down shut off valve, replace it with a off brand type

Watts is poor quality! I had a Watts Intelliflow and it failed after 1 1/2 at a cost of $500. Waste of money and poor quality and support.
