Great video!! Only Problem is that the rebuild kit costs just as much as a brand new set of valves...which dont make sense...

I appreciate you putting this on You Tube because I purchased a dual valve that was leaking. I was going to fix but couldn't get, apart, was told I was doing something wrong but now I see it is just a cheep knock off in a Watts box. Ordered new Watts that is repairable, thank you again. You are the first person I have found that showed the procedure instead of just saying how to do it, and it was quicker and just as cost effective to replace valve....

Appreciate seeing all the work/parts involved in a full repair. Based on this and your comment at the end, opted to buy a new valve ($37 at a big box store) and replace the top part. Was a quick job (

Great Video. I like doing repairs. I even like better breaking down the item to its skeleton so you can understand how things work and which parts need to be replaced

Fantastic job....is it necessary to take the whole valve apart if I only need to replace the small O rings on the shut off shaft? I'm guessing, yes, since it seems that its keyed into the balls on hot and cold shutoff inlet. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks for posting. it answered a lot of my wondering. What is the cost difference between the kit and a new valve? Is it worth taking a chance of overhauling the valve than replacing with the new one? Excluding the soldered pieces?

The Watts brand valve is pretty expensive depending on where you purchase but you can buy a cheaper brand that will still slide right on in place of the Watts valve, just make sure you do check your Center to Center measurements to make sure that they are the same. You should probably take your valve top with you after you remove two flat head screws to compare when you purchase. Cheaper valves can be bought as cheap as $38-$40. The kit is around $32.

I'm having an issue with pipes banging after buying a new washing machine. Can I install a water hammer arrestor into the holes where the screws are removed at the beginning of the video?

Looks like fun but mine is wicked corroded so I don’t feel like messing around with all that. Not sure how much the rebuild kit costs, but it’s less than $40 for a new one.
