How to Install a Factory Spoiler on 2015 INFINITI Q 50 S

Something a little different in this video. Tim and I walk through the steps to install a factory spoiler on a 2015 INFINITI Q50 S
The installation is not difficult, IT DOES REQUIRE DRILLING INTO THE TRUNK. IF you are not comfortable with this then please research having the dealership install it or perhaps a body shop.
With that said, the instructions are very thorough and picture diagrams help. The only item that is not included but required is the anti rust product.

Sheesh,I just ordered this spoiler for my 2014 S,and watching them drill those holes made me cringe 😬.Im just gonna go to the dealer and fork over the extra money for them to do it

I cut the bolts off and just used 3m tape to hold it down. No way in hell i would have drilled holes in trunk to install the spoiler. 3m double sided tape works perfectly by itself btw

Hey question, What size bits when installing the oem spoiler for q50? Helpful vid btw!

The sizes are mentioned around the 4 min mark. 1/8" pilot hole, 23/64" for the center holes and 7/16" for the outside holes. Again, roughly 4:40 and 5:30 into the video.

Gav Details got it thanks! Also noticed on 8th min mark you mention the torque specs for the the torque wrench. What exact specs are recommended when using one to tighten bolt for oem spoiler?

@@Gabe-fn5pf the low torque specs are not achievable with what we had. I would say hand tight or less. This was also explained in the video

Screwed in rear diffuser, felt like had to for gaps. But this deck spoiler?.. just used 3m double sided. Don't think I could screw in my trunk. Does dealership/infiniti always screw these in or do they use double sided tape too?

Hey Russell, I cannot speak for the dealer install but this is a OEM part and the directions from Infiniti instruct to drill. Tim is pretty particular about his stuff, so if he drilled, he felt that was the appropriate way to install it. No issues to report 1 year later.

The installation may be similar. I suggest looking for an OE spoiler and see if instructions are available ahead of time.

This vehicle belongs to my neighbor. I suggest checking with Infiniti. It's an OEM spoiler.

It would be the reverse process. Remove the felt trunk liner, remove the nuts that thread into the spoiler studs. The spoiler has double sided tape. Please note, there will be holes exposed in the trunk when the spoiler is removed.

Never drill a hole in your trunk smh double sided tape work just fine
