Dave, 100% correct. Who ever made this video, the nicest way I can say this is "You need to remove this video ASAP!"

Yo............................. don't work on my roof guys

Proper installation involves removing the roof panel, building a curb and flashing per metal roof standards. This method will leak........I guarantee that.

I see a major leak in the near distance future like your next rain fall future but what the hell you got a air vent, now install a rain catcher inside building

Guarantee a leaker, I am dealing with this now from a previous home owner

The vent install aside, you should put something between the shingles and the metal roof, at the very least tar paper.
@user-gh4is7wf3c
This is almost painful to watch. And how do you keep the upper highs from leaking?

Only leaks when it rains!

Hey man people can talk all the crap they want about this video but I ain't gonna lie It helped me a lot to understand how to put my vent in my tin roof. Especially where you showed how to put the lines on the side so you could slip the vent in. Also where you have to cut the tin down at the bottom that's what helped me the most. The only thing I would recommend is when you're doing this on a tin roof cut like these guys explained but if you have any big spaces or want to cover up the holes in the tin you can screw in some metal sheeting to kind of build up the area around the vent and then go with an exterior paintable silicone and fill in all cracks screws EVERYTHING where you feel water might leak. I used this video then added metal sheeting to where they cut the tin down at the bottom and all around plus silicone everything. Make sure its level and screw in everything tight! Hope this helps someone

This is a video showing how to NOT install a roof vent in a new metal roof. Plus it took them forever
