billymoss12 is correct. It is now listed as one of the rotor features on Rain Bird's website. This will be a big timesaver when adjusting these rotors. Thanks for the heads up!

@coopdeville5 Yes you can a flat head screwdriver to adjust. It needs to be a small one.

The new rainbird models have a feature called "slip clutch". This allows you to turn your head to the left stop, then continue turning past it until you get to the direction you would like the left stop to start at. Once that is set you can adjust the right stop using the + / - adjuster. All this can be done without having to dig up your head and lossen the funny els.

Im assuming its the GPM your Spigot produces. Mine is only 7 GPM. So instead of 2 heads at 3gpm i would use 3-4 with 1.5 GPM

I'm trying to figure out if my heads have the slip clutch . I rotated all the way to say 180 then back to 0 then tried to go to let's say negative 45 but it felt a little hard to keep twisting past 0 starting point. Should it easily turn or you have to force it . Any sounds like clicks that you should hear or none at all ? Thanks in advance.

The bottom of the 5000 series rotor has a 3/4" IPS inlet. You have to rotate the rotor on this connection, whether it is a funny pipe 3/4" elbow or a 3/4" nipple, to set the initial left stop. Once the left stop is set you can set the radius-right stop with a small screwdriver. Go to my channel iScaper1 to see my video on how to adjust a Rain Bird 5000 series rotor. In that video I set the initial left stop on the rotor before I buried the head.

Sure wish you had shown how to get the nozzle head out of a sprinkler. The one I have in mine is throwing way to heavy a stream of water even with diffuser turned all the way down. Can't for the life of me figure out how to get nozzle head out though.

Hello, can I turn off the sprinkler head from the top adjustments? I do not want to cap the pipe, just turn it off for now. Thank you!

Teresa Marie The 5000 Series Plus rotors have a flow shut off on the top of the nozzle. The regular 5000 Series rotors don't.

I think I might have broken the diffuser screw, when I put the screwdriver in, it goes all the way down without touching anything. And the water comes out on max strength. Is there anyway to fix it or should I get a new sprinkler?

If the screw is gone you may have to get another head.

Glyn Robinson if it leaking out of the actual number tip, NO, you have to replace it. If it’s leaking on top it’s coming from the adjusting screw and that can be fixed. Go to an irrigation supply store, not Home Depot, ace or Lowe’s. They will hive you a nozzle tree for 2’bucks

Hi kerry when u by a 5000 rotor does it come with a 3.0 noz and do u have 2 by a noz tree extra i purched a 5000 rotor with a sam and it had a 3.0 noz in it and i was not given a noz tree

Nozzle tree should come free when you purchase the head.

isnt the funny pipe going to reduce the water flow?

Funny pipe delivers up to 6 gpm (gallons per minute) in flow. The 5000 series rotor comes with 1.5 - 8.0 gpm nozzles. So you could use funny pipe on all the nozzles except for the 8.0 gpm nozzle. If you want to use the 8.0 nozzle you'll probably need a 3/4" supply to the head.
