We have super hard water and it’s an arid climate where I live. I bought one of these a few months ago and I think my skin feels better after getting out of the shower. Not like all the moisture has been sucked out. So far so good.

I tested my shower filtered and unfiltered water at my job (where we have a bunch of expensive water/chlorine/peracetic acid/etc testing equipment) I was super surprised to see 2 things specifically.. 1. The amount of chlorine detected in the un-filtered water was way way way higher than I had guessed it would be.. and that didn’t make me feel to great, especially about my kitchen sink/cooking water.. and 2. The filtered water sample I tested.. the equipment couldn’t detect enough chlorine in it to give me a reading. Which means it was either completely chlorine free, or, was below 10ppm after filtration. Have to say I love my shower filter. Makes my skin and hair feel much better. I feel like it was worth it. I will give a piece of advice tho, lots of filters say it “lasts” 6 months, or 4 month, or 3 months. Some even say they last longer than that.. you can’t rely on any of those numbers. Your plumbing and water is different everywhere. And I realized I needed to change my filter earlier than instructed because my showerhead pressure dropped to barely functioning.. lol. Anyway thanks for your time and thank you for attending my TED talk. 🙃

I had dry, itchy flaky scalp, tried everything to treat it. Oil treatments, so many different moisturizing shampoos even expensive ones, aloe Vera, scalp serums, hair masks, etc. Nothing fixed my problem until I did research, and came across that my shower can be the cause of my dry flaky scalp. So I tried sprite shower filter, that didn’t fix my problem so I returned. Then order aqua bliss filter and all my scalp and hair problems gone. All that money spent on shampoos and treatments went down the drain when all I needed was a shower filter.

My hard water filter from this brand grew mold after 6months. I went to change out the filter and realized we’ve been showering in black mold for who knows how long. And my shower head started leaking. This is the second one I’ve had to buy
@Hmy87996 ай бұрын
When you change the filter, you will notice that it’s full and it will appear to be black-so they actually SHOULD put something in the manual that comes with it that tells the customer it’s not actually mold. It’s the carbon that is in the filter (which is extremely effective at catching and *absorbing* toxins/heavy metals). So bc the carbon is absorbing a lot of crap from the water, it expands as the filter becomes full of the different types of XYZ that it’s removing from the water-much of it having been absorbed by the carbon and causing it to expand from what I understand/have applied my knowledge to make sense of it (I’m SUCH a psycho about mold because I still have mold illness and need to slowwwly detox from it after opening my drainage pathways-but when it was at its worse and I was living in mold, I couldn’t complete a single sentence. So I pay up for my rent due to how the building was built and the materials used, which were far superior to those that were shorter/built with wood or higher/cut corners…I’m in a VERY HUMID city so I’m always on the hunt haha-I NEVER want to feel that stupid again…it lasted over a year). ANYYYwayysss so that’s why the carbon (which appears like black goo instead of what it once was, which was dry/probably in pellet form, as are used in the highest quality/most $$$ air purifiers to capture smoke/fumes/ VOCs from building/furniture materials (great if formaldehyde was used as a glue…). Anyways, that’s why some people look for air purifiers with a heavy carbon filter (there are a few that have 8-15 pounds of carbon used)-this is so it will absorb what the first and third filters can’t-and they do a DANG good job! Most filters will just have a black sheet thing and call it the “carbon filter”. Anyways, I hope this makes what you saw make more sense! Because it’s so black, the carbon keeps its color and when it expands (by 6 months mine was also very full, and the only way I knew was because the carbon was just about overflowing/totally full), it will look like sludge that can also look like black mold. So unless you have been experiencing symptoms of mold exposure/a severe mold allergy due to the exposure, or full on mold illness (even though none would be required for the presence of mold, as every different body responses differently-some are susceptible to mold illness, and some won’t feel anything noticeable which can get confusing when family members are all responding differently/not at all). Oh! So unless you’ve experienced symptoms, you can feel A-OK about it not having been mold!!

I purchased a water testing kit from Amazon and tested my tapwater, to my recently purchased showerhead filter, and my Britta water pitcher filtered water. I’m not sure what all that showerhead filter is really doing because my skin feels better after a shower, but the test results showed that it seems to be making minor changes for the most part in the water quality . Considering purchasing a new filter cartridge but I’m disappointed and kind of just want my money back . On the other hand, the Britta water pitcher filtered made significant changes in the water quality. Neither filter improved water, hardness, and was not marketed to do such. A water softener is needed for that.

I was losing so much hair I thought there was something going on on the inside of my body went to the doctors, had my hormones checked out, said everything was normal but couldnt figure out why the loss of hair. Fast forward to a month ago, the mainline in my plumbing busted. My insurance covered rehousing while the contractors are working on my house. Will the Hotel we were staying at has soft water I noticed the first night I took a shower my hair and skin felt so different soft I was like my skin feels so good and so did my hair it wasn't dry and brittle anymore. I'm talking one shower, instant change! My hair wasn't breaking off anymore, and I wasn't shedding hair even when I brushed it. So I think water softness is so worth it. No real difference on most tests probably means this isn’t doing much. People are probably getting placebo or absolutely no effect but they believe they get it. (The difference between placebo and no effect is that placebo actually gives a mesurable therapeutic response but it isn’t due to anything the placebo did it’s mostly how the person or the person’s body reacts to having taken it that has effects.

I'd argue the filters do filter things out of the water (shown by how dirty these get after a while of using) however whether removing those particles had any effect on the person's health is up for debate.
