Just want to thank you for the 5 wire walk through. The wire colors were exactly the same on my Fox Mustang and I never knew what a 451m was. I've been fighting with hooking up this cheapo keyless entry for years, seriously years. The only way I had it working was by disconnecting the connector to the passenger switch and that made the driver switch not work either but the keyless entry worked on the driver door only and I accepted that it's the best I could do. Watched your video ordered up a 451m and within 30 minutes everything is working the way it should. So grateful, thank you.

Amazon has heat shrink connectors with soldier in the middle. Just heat it up and it soldiers the wiring together and seals it up. Great video

What an awesome video... I am replacing old alarm that has failed with the Avital 5303L. Your lay out and description of all the wire was a perfect... I can now easily install this alarm! worked at best Buy for 15 years and in my time as a mobile tech with them, I have never used a tap connector on any alarm install. We were required to be MECP certified and we were told by the company to always follow best practice and were not allowed to use tap connectors on alarms. I saw a bunch of alarms installed at other places that used taps and we would fix them when they failed.

the only video I found on KZfaq, explains very well how to mount Viper's system, thank you! BTW mine is the 5706V, I couldn't test full functions on a bench, it always gives a remote start error on the remote screen, I routed all other sense wires like the parking brake, brake shutdown, hood, and doors accordingly, and the tachometer wire is intended for" manual trans only", and their crappy documentation doesn't have any schematics, I like how you grouped the wires, good job!

The dude you installed this for was no fun. lol Love having the horn hooked to the alarm, way more effective at attracting attention. DEI alarms by default only honk the horn on a full trigger. Warn and arm/disarm will just chirp. I actually turned the arm/disarm chirp off on mine, no reason to have it with a 2 way remote.

Jam up I wired my 94 f150 it had the five wire. Good info. The alarm was a little overwhelming at first.

Very informative and nicely done job that you did I copied you and did it to my 96 f150 xlt power everything with factory keyless entry basically the same setup as the truck in the video. I have a small problem though of my door locks will lock with the switch but not the remote and I know in the video you said I need to reprogram that but everytime I try to it goes to garage mode but it did program the tach wire just fine and everything else works great so I thank you very much with that!

i have been going insane trying to get this thing to work on my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood brougham , i went with this cause it was DEI product and I've installed a Clifford in remote start in a 94 just like it as well as the 3100 alarm however 3 DAYS IVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS and i have a Service manual for the vehicle im going to get the add on deal to hopefully get the positive looks to work that you suggest and if that doesn't work I'm going to rip it all out and go another route great video and information

23:02 is a sign of a tech that lacks experience. Never ever use test lights of any kind. Only DMM's are allowed. The exception to the rule is with early model vehicles without air bags or sensitive computers. The test lights do pass signals onto the wire you are probing. They can and will deploy an airbag or damage sensitive computers.

Just finished install on my 1992 F150 XLT. The lock unlock wires on mine were reversed from video, used the 451m. Tach worked, didn't have to learn it. Also unlock was good. Any info on changing crank length? Unable to find anything on it. Thank you for the great video!

I sure wish you could make another video showing how to hook this alarm up my truck. I have talked to professional installer and it's going to cost me around $275.00 to have them hook it up. Can you advise me on how to connect this to the diesel auto start? I'd sure like to be able to use all the features of this alarm system. Your Video was very good and explained with excellence. I just couldn't understand one thing. what is a "5 wire?" The part at the end of your video you were explaining. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 with remote entry. The Alarm that came with the truck (Lojack) was disarmed and doesn't alarm if you bump it, Only opens the door's with my remote. Could you explain more detail about 5 wire? Do i need to apply this for my ford for my door's?

That dark blue wire on the 20 pin should never be cut off. It's used to activate the bypass module to get past the factory immobilizer.

I installed viper alarm same way you did in video, battery keeps draining I have to keep remote starting truck every 2 days to keep battery dropping below 11.8v by 2nd day. Is there anyway to prevent the power draw from alarm system? I also installed the viper smart start which allows me to gps track, remote start, unlock and lock with phone. Installed both at same time, do you think it’s the viper smart start killing battery or the viper alarm. Also the viper alarm killed my coil twice. Day one of install and a few months later. Any thoughts on why it keeps killing coil?

This video helped me out a great deal installing a Viper 5906v in my 95 Ford truck. Thanks for posting it. Quick question, my o/d light flashes when I remote start it (e4od auto trans). Just wonder if the customer in this vid experiences the same thing or if there's a quick fix for it. Other than that and a few issues programming the remote start functions everything was fairly easy.

Hello, Great video - very instructive - I bought the Avital 3100L model - very similar but without remote start. I also bought the Install Essentials 451M Door Lock Relay Module. When wiring the door lock relay I think I wired the relay incorrectly as the door motors kept triggering when it hit the unlock button on the remote until I unplugged the harness to stop it. Now I wired it correctly like how you showed and only the passenger side locks/unlocks. Any idea what could be the issue?

So I've got the remote start working perfectly I've used a 451 relay for the door locks spliced them in my unlock switch has always worked on my passenger side but neither switch on my driver works. I click the buttons on the remote and can hear the relay click but nothing happens would this be because my master switch is not working properly? The passenger door unlock still works spliced in the relay

I see you didn't used any relays, but you m guessing because if the alarm has already positive/negative triggers

@donnythelatemodeltech hey I have the avital remote start that just does door locks and remote start (I use the truck release to my air horns lol) ,but I put this system in my 96 f150 5.0l V8 and I did step by step between 2 or 3 wire guides and my little issue is (sometimes) occasionally the starter wont disengage unless I either turn off the system or try again or dont try it again until another day and it works "ok"

So my question is. I have a base model 1993 F250 xl with no power options. Would this still work on my truck since I don't have power locks?

The only thing I’m still uncertain of is the key side car side terms still throws me off a bit when I cut the 12v constant the wire still attached towards the steering wheel is considered key side and the wire going away would be car side ?

Set this up on my 94 F150 and it worked great until about a month ago when I came out and the battery was dead. I bought a new battery, installed it and all was working until 3days ago when the truck is just locking the doors repeatedly and I cant get into the truck. Ideas on what is happening?

Also, I am confused about the horn connection, it sounds like it uses the horn to sound an alarm but also it has its own siren? Or is the horn connection just for the lock / unlock chirps? I have a question. I noticed when I remote start my 96 F150 that cluster and ABS module is not getting accessory power from the system. When I turn the key it comes on like normal. Just a little thing I noticed. Not really a big deal. Did this truck do the same thing? Or did I miss an accessory wire?

Great video! I'm adding the Avital 4003 add-on remote start to my OBS F150. I recently installed the 2101 standalone keyless entry, so I'm just adding remote start and no alarm. Question on the hood pin switch. If not using this function, do I just ground that wire? You added it to the "maybe later" harness, but I didn't know if it needed to be grounded for the remote start to operate. Thanks for this informative video!

HI, I need some help. I just installed a Viper 4806V 2way starter on a 2011 Yaris manual trans. I paired it with ADS-ALCA bypass. My yaris has a engine emobillizer. I think I made a few mistakes. Here are the symptoms after install. After I finished. I set up the ADS-ALCA bypass module as per instructions, key in, turn to on light solid and select 2way bla bla bla. All went good. Then I programed the tach wire, all good there. Then I tried to initiate the manual startup mode. Turned the car on, then put in neutral, then press brake and pull Ebrake and the remote sounds the tune that all is good as it always does, BUT, NOW when I take the key out the car it's suppose to stay on until I go out shut the do and hit LOCK, then the car shut's off and remote makes the sound similar to the activation sound but a little different, but not like BEEEP as in error. Could it be because these mistakes I made. This is my 4rth VIper remote start DIY install and second on a Manual trans and it's been 5 years since the last time I installed it on a manual. I also did not hook up the door lock wires correctly coming from the viper remote brain to the lock wires in the car. Viper shoots out (-) trigger through it's blue and green wires. Lock/unlock wires on the car are positive. I have the same needle light you have, hooked up to the battery in the engine bay. when I poke the lock/unlock wires in the car, the GREEN light comes on, BUT when I press lock/ unlock button on the door, the RED light comes one, SO they are a positive trigger. I will get relays and fix it. For now they sit like that. I just want to mention everything I left under question mark that need fixing. I did not attach clutch wire for clutch bypass. I dont think I need to since the starter activates before removing the key when I kit brake and pull EBRAKE. THANKS AND GOD BLESS. 1. Starter wire from the viper remote start brain, I spliced it into the starter wire in the ignition. But I did not cut the wire. Should I cut the wire and then attach the starter wire from the starter to the ignition side of the cut starter wire? 2. I have 2 ignition wires. I taped into the 2nd ignition wire. I thought it does not matter. How should I do this. Should I take the ignition wire from the starter brain ad make it into a T and tap one side into the ignition 1 and the other in the ingition 2
