What solution do you have for a warped cabinet door. Put the glass in, but it's popping out in one corner due to warping. Had a glass company attempt to put the custom glass in we ordered, but would not stay bonded. They weighted it down to keep it flat, but after removing the weight, the glass came out again on one corner. Three of the doors came out perfect, just this one door that is bowed.

I watched so many videos but can’t find any on how myn is, I broke the glass on the cabinet and when I took it off, it’s like the wood is built around the glass, I don’t know how to remove it and install the new glass

thanks for making this video! How thick does the silicone need to be on the backside of the glass?

Not very thick at all, just enough to make a small film covering the edge of the glass and wood.

How do I find glasses that fit ? I don’t want to have to buy them and cut them.

You'll need to take dimensions and have a glass company in your area cut them

Warning: we did this with frosted glass and touching the frosted side of the glass with silicone removed the frosted layer. We had to throw away that glass panel 😞

My glass fell out of one door out of 5. It looks like I have to take the thin back of of the set of bookshelves to get the shelf out. Does this sound right? The front wooden doors swung out and up to give you access to the books.

You might have to? Not sure without actually seeing it. Most shelves set on pegs and lift up, and can be tilted to get out of the front

Caulk 😉 and yes, that's all that's needed. Pretty strong when there's that much surface area that's caulked

How much of a gap should there be between the glass and the frame edge?

Not much of a gap, 1/8 maybe. As long as the glass fits in there and there's enough material to adhere to the silicone you'll be good

what if you're doing a metal sheet insert. Can you use same caulk??

Yep should work fine. Silicone sticks to pretty much anything and is a strong enough hold for this application

Local glass shop. You should have someone local that could cut glass to order, or last resort find an online seller for custom cut glass

I have a question. For wood frames. When you template for glass. Do you deduct anything from the overall existing measurements to account for expansion and contraction due to temperature changes? Job site is in the northeast, so we do have temperature extremes.

When I got the glass made, I gave the company the exact opening dimensions. I believe they subtract 1/8 inch from each side for fitment. Your local glass company will be able to better help with that
