How to Install Dishwasher End Panel Step by Step

This is exactly what I was doing all day. With the exception of 1st creating a extension to the back wall, add a electrical plug, running water lines and install garbage disposal. Hopefully tomorrow finish up.

Great job, fwi you can get away without drilling by using some permanent bonding glue or epoxy. Since it's on tile maybe see if Sika has an adhesive, they've got some of the best and tailored for any job.

Did you add a strip of wood along the top of the wall to support the worktop? How do you attach the worktop to the wood supports? You explain everything excellently. A video or information answering these questions would be greatly appreciated. You're the only person I understand from start to finish, thank you!

I am fitting my own kitchen and have discovered that a strip of wood to support the worktop isn't always needed; however, this depends upon where your dishwasher will be situated. Your dishwasher should be the same height as your kitchen cabinets and will support your worktop if adjusted correctly. Also, if you have cabinets either side, then no wood is required.

You made the first piece of wood that you attached to the floor 21" long as though you were going to cut a small L out of the corner of your plywood endpiece. Did you change your mind part way through? Either way, your endpiece looks great and this idea ought to work in my kitchen. Thanks for the instruction. One question about the top of the dishwasher at the front: It looks like there'll be a bit of a gap there below the countertop. Did you need to fill that in with another strip of 1x2 or anything?

I think a bead of construction adhesive between wood where they meet up would add stability. Also between the support board and the floor.

How would you fasten the bottom 2x1 to tile on top of concrete? We have a cabinet project in a basement which has tile on top of self-leveling underlayment compound, on top of a concrete slab. An under-counter fridge is on the end, so we need a “dishwasher panel”, although it’s not technically a dishwasher.

In the basement you should use concrete nails or screws. Will perfectly work.

So what will support the front part of the countertop? I know you can put a brace board on the back wall for support but that won't support the front of the counter.

the countertop does not need support in the front.

what if you need to access the socket or take the dishwasher out? I am having that problem with mine and I was thinking I could attach the panel with magnets instead of fixed? what do you think?

I don't see an issue of taking the dishwasher out . If you can use magnet to install the end panel go for it.

Was that final finish piece a 1 x 3 piece? The text stated 1 x 2 but it looks wider than 1 x 2 because it's width spans the 1 x 2 on the floor plus 3/4" end plus plus an extra 1/4" or so. This is at 14:40

You are correct my mistake it is 1x3" . (By the way 1x3 is really 3/4x2.5" and 1x2" is 3/4x1.75")

What ever happened to using wood glue too?? Also the base support which was fastened to the floor should have construction adhesive to bond to floor.
