Leggari Floor Kits were designed to transform your floors into something new and unique by coating your existing concrete, tile, or wood flooring. Floor Kits are fun and easy to install. You can have a designer floor that will last for decades in 2 days with our unique floor kits, custom made to your projects square footage.
Learn about the floor installation process here:
PREPPING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
One of the best ways to prep your surface is diamond grinding. You can rent concrete grinders at most rental stores. The next best way is using an etching chemical to etch the surface of the concrete. You can also sand the surface if the before mentioned methods can’t be done. If you can only prep minimally or can’t prep at all we have a Prep Replacement Primer to help achieve a strong bond. We always recommend prepping the concrete surface first.
PRIMING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
Priming the floor is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the floor is completely pigmented. Wait 1 hr (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
Applying the Base Coat and Highlights is the funnest part. Mix your pre-measured Base Coat, pour it out across the floor and begin to spread out the epoxy with your rubber squeegee getting it as even as you can. Our Epoxy self-levels so don’t worry about getting it perfectly even. Quickly roll over the surface with your paint roller to help even out the epoxy. Now mix your pre-measured highlight color and apply it to the base color, then blend it to your desired look.
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different gloss sheens in our Urethane Top Coat. The Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or a Matte Finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture which gives it the extra durability. Apply it within 24 hrs of installing your floor kit or you will need to sand the surface before applying it.
**APPLICATION DETAILS ARE ADDRESSED IN OUR TUTORIAL VIDEOS

One thing I really appreciate, is how you emphasize getting the most product for your money, without having waste left over. Other places will try to sell you a lot more than you need "just in case you run out", so they can make more money.

Can 1 room be done by itself on a slab? By that I mean if I masked the cement slab at the doorway and did 1 room, can I go back later and do the next room and build a decent looking transition in the epoxy?
@LeggariProducts
@LeggariProducts 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. When you do the first room you’ll tape a line on the floor where you want the epoxy to stop (like you mentioned). We recommend under the door when it’s closed. Then, when you’re ready to butt up the next epoxy to it, you’ll tape on top of the first epoxy right to the edge. When the second floor gets hard, sand the transition area flat with a palm sander before applying the top coat. It’ll look beautiful!

i was going to use a vinyl snap floor in a commercial (bakery) but was told by a different flooring guy to try this epoxy because he said the snap will not go the distance. How well will this epoxy serve us in our commercial setting? How expensive is this with the sparkly effect for 900 soft. Approximately. thanks

As a person who has had epoxy flooring installed professionally I must honestly give this information to all of you who are interested in it. First off, all epoxy flooring is oil based and is not UV resistant in any way which means that the epoxy floor could go through ambering or yellow discolouration over time where the sunlight hits the epoxy, especially with light coloured epoxy floor. Second, epoxy is extremely easy to scratch and mark just by dropping something on it. Don’t believe what installers tell you about how hard it becomes. It is in no way near the strength of tile, stone, or regular flooring materials. Third, epoxy floor isn’t installed by artists so what you think you will get in terms of design will never be. And lastly, epoxy is a cheap and ineffective floor that needs to be redone after a few years of wear and tear. It always looks good after the initial pour, but within weeks all you see are scratches and marks all over the floor, and with time the epoxy product itself becomes chalky to the touch and begins to look very ugly very quickly. In my opinion epoxy is a product that reduces home value not raising it in any way. It’s not nice after a short time and it’s not resistant at all. Not to mention the abundance of hacks that do installation is disgusting. Just check your local restaurant or any place where epoxy is installed, it always gets redone and looks terrible after a short time, not to mention that it doesn’t do well with high heats People listen closely. Save money and do tile, wood or any other type of floor Epoxy is garbage 🗑 I know not all of you will listen, but those who do will thank me. Do your research and see the truth about this terrible product. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND THE VALUE OF YOUR HOME 🏠

Thank you. I do a lot of art with epoxy and I couldn't agree more. I do wonder though if some of the Leggari epoxy holds up better than normal because they sell a protective coating to finish it with? Not sure. I also don't like that they skipped the entire prep process for this floor in the video, or discuss what is under...subfloor, concrete?

1:22 "Obviously the floor has already been prepped..." OK, not 2 minutes in and we're already lost. Do you think maybe how prep is done might be important? I guess not. After that the mess continues. Obviously this is so hard to do it's unexplainable.

When comparing prices this is where people get fooled by other companies. You just priced out a complete industrial grade system. You remove the vapor barrier and put the resin down thinner without a top coat; you can get a super cheap floor and Thats how other companies prices seem cheaper but your not getting an industrial grade system. Never go cheap when installing decorative epoxy👍 What your getting at that price: Vapor barrier Epoxy at 45 sq ft per gallon Pigments High wear urethane top coat
