I've been a big fan of Burt Coyote Lumenoks for years, but with the new Scorpyd comes new nocks. Here's my install. Not perfect, but it worked!
This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt exclusively with the crossbow. I love it and I aim to help you love it, too!
Check out my book! The Death by Bunjie Crossbow Story (Confessions of a Crossbow Hunter) is NOW AVAILABLE on Amazon.com! You can check it out here: amzn.to/2Peq4aC

Now, I am not sponsored by anyone. I am a free agent. I experiement with different types of gear, but I'll tell you my honest opinion about everything out there. I am not sponsored by Excalibur or Scorpyd...read on:
Bunjie (The O.B.) is a 2010 Excalibur Axiom Crossbow. After a decade of killing deer, hogs, squirrels--you name it!--with the "stock" 20" Easton Firebolt arrows, Bunjie experimented with heavy arrows during 2020 but has since decided to hunt with 20" ProFlight arrows from Easton, for a total arrow weight of just under 400 grains when tipped with a 100 grain Rage Crossbow Hypodermic Broadhead. This keeps ol' Bunjie around 300fps. Is Bunjie retired as of 2021?
Bunjie, Jr., is my daughter Genevieve's crossbow, an Excalibur Micro Suppressor 355. She also shoots ProFlights (16.5" variety) with a 150 grain Rage Trypan Crossbow Broadhead, for a total arrow weight around 415 grains. This crossbow was a much appreciated gift from a Friend of Bunjie, and it changed Death by Bunjie forever by inspiring Genevieve to become a part of it as a second-generation crossbow hunter, and it also convinced me there is a benefit to a newer, faster crossbow (see our 2020 Maryland Doe Hunt).
Bunjie III (or Bunjie '21, Bunjie 3.0) is a 2021 Scorpyd Deathstalker, the result of trying various models and looking at dozens of them online for characteristics I liked. It is, in fact, another gift from a different Friend of Bunjie, which goes to show how important Friends of Bunjie are to this channel and what an impact they can have. Although I really liked what I saw online, I would not have even tried a Scorpyd given that no shops near me carried them. This was sent to me new, free of charge...with the only stipulation being that if I didn't like it, I would send it back to that FOB. After spending some time with it, I am convinced it is, in fact, the right crossbow for me in 2021, and I look forward to showcasing this crossbow in future videos.
So, I am not sponsored by these companies. I am sponsored by Friends of Bunjie! (I'm not asking for gifts whatsoever--please don't feel like you should send me stuff! But I do appreciate the support I've received over the years! I'm just trying to express my appreciation for that.)
Once again, this channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt exclusively with the crossbow. I love it. Sure, like a lot of kids, I started hunting with a good ol' Model '94 Winchester .30-30 back in the 80's, but drifted away from hunting when I went off to college, law school, and started a family. As my daughter got older, I regained my interest in the outdoors, and I consider myself lucky to hunt on the same property today that I hunted on as a kid. I got the Excalibur Axiom crossbow in 2010 and I haven't looked back. This channel is the result of combining my interest in filming and hunting...
...and music, too! My related channel, Yankee Militia, showcases my music. Some of the music is hunting-related, so check that out, too! The soundtrack for this channel is provided by my band, so the two are intertwined. The albums "Live Free or Kill" and "Zombies Gotta Eat, Too!" are available on Amazon.com and elsewhere. A third album is in the works.
All Hail Bunjie!

That was pretty cool . I like the snap in of the nock and that would be nice if you could replace the Half moon , Flat nock with this then it would be Guaranteed not to dry fire because the arrow would be connected to the string .Thanks Rich

A few tricks for successful Firenock installation 1) One should not use nail polish acetone as it has lotion in it. Use. 100% acetone for best result. And blow out any acetone before using super glue. Acetone is a debonder for CA gel glue. 2) When install or remove the battery. Make sure you use counter clockwise rotation on the battery to prevent battery wire binding. 3) when install the Firenock into the shaft. It is advise to use strung wax on the nock cylinder for easy turning of nock and blood proof the circuit 4) one should turn the nock for the last 3/8” of in to prevent the battery from hanging on the edge of the battery 5) one should hold the arrow with the nock side down and hold it still for no less than 4 seconds to shut of the internal 15 degree motion sensor for shut off process. 6) use the 24 gauge orange luerlock tip for precision AG0GEL glue gel application.

I’ve recently had problems with Lumenok. With the faster speed of these new bows, the battery is coming loose on impact. Called Lumenok and talked with the vice president of the company and he had a suggestion; put a cork in the end of the arrow shaft, only putting it in enough where the battery of the Lumenok will touch or ride against the cork. Said he would send me three 5/16” corks and 3 new batteries, free of charge. Hope that remedies my problem. That’s good customer service!

That's a new one for me, I had not heard that problem about faster crossbows but I can totally see it. Faster crossbows require heavier Duty targets and those try to stop the arrow even faster than normal. Thank you for sharing this because it's something I need to consider.

Man I wish I could go on the meet and greet pig hunt. Been hard with my Dad passing away this past February. Hopefully I will get to go next year, and get to bring and use his crossbow. It's a cheaper model recurve type at 150 lbs so he could cock it. If not I myself am getting a new crossbow this year. Not sure which one, but your testing out videos help. Good luck to you and your daughter. Be safe and shoot straight. All hail the Bunjie Clan!

Just a tiny touch of oil on the threads of that insert tool will assure you can unscrew it and the glue won't get in there.

When I remove the original nock with the new lumenock I use the lumenock tool to make sure the edge/rim of the arrow is perfectly even all the way around...with your new setup it might not be as critical...

I believe I have mentioned that I knew Dorge (inventor of fire nock) back when he was getting started. I wonder if you remember me mentioning that (while all mine were free) I couldn't use them. The reason being, they were too fragile. The best? Technically they are. What I am warning you right away is that you can break them easier than sneezing. Google the wiggle method of turning them off. It works the best in my experience. Too expensive to be busting them up due to heavy handedness. Great lights for sure but be xtra cautious.

If the glue insert moves and puts a tight nock slightly out of alignment... use waxed dental floss as a jam nut. Works very well.

Hope those come pre installed also. Pretty cool how they turn off, I have to wrestle with lumenoks at times. I thought I saw some quill arrows with caption nocks advertised on them but might be mistaken, found it odd for excalibur.

You can get them preinstalled but not worth it. Proflights with standard set up is 97 for 6. Lighted is 102 for 3.

Can these “click-nocks” be used on crossbows that require half-moon nocks? My bolt moves out of battery at times while hunting. This would solve that problem.

I thought that you would have used the capture lumenok .300 on your deathstalker black eagle arrows, that they sell on eBay. Nice video now I know of the fire nocks and the install ,great job. $37.33 , for a 3 pack or the pink ones that are a little cheaper.

Yup I would probably get so much glue in there the set tool would be unremovable lol! Just wondering if you have to leave it in while the glue sets or can you unscrew it and start working on your next arrow while it dries?

Wow, those are way more complicated than Lumenoks. Going to have to check your POI, that's probably changed with all that extra stuff on the back end. Second wow, those turn off easy, that's worth the install aggravation.
