I’ve watched others say prime the system by turning the key 6 times for 30 sec each. You’re the first that mentioned 3x.

Excellent instructional video. The best on KZfaq for the 2015 power stroke. Particularly like the clarity in the sequence for changing the frame filter which is : loosen the filter housing 3 turns then and only then drain the fuel with the peacock. Another you tube video showed the sequence out of order which essentially results in draining the entire fuel tank if you happen to loosen the peacock first.

Excellent video! I like how he explains the why's. For example, why the primary filter is turned three times before it's drained.... To prevent a siphon from the fuel tank.

The 2016 has a bracket on the primary filter area that needs to be taken off first.

Great tip mine was draining the fuel tank three gals and was still going

If it doesn't start when it was running fine before the filter change you have air trapped in the filters. You can pull the "out" side (left) of the fuel line at the top filter. Turn the key to run position but do not start. The fuel pump will push the fuel through the filters and eventually you will have a full stream of fuel. You can use a hose to let the fuel through the line and drain into a bucket. Once you have full flow reconnect the secondary fuel filter line. The vehicle should crank and run.

You risk vapor lock by not purging the air out of the system.

Changed my fuel filters on my 2016 Super Duty. Now having problems with it. Ran for one day then quit. About to change the lower pump and see what happens. No fuel getting to the upper filter. When we purged the line, very little fuel comes out. Lots of air.

Yes. Just remember to loosen frame rail filter no 3 turns and then drain from petcock.

Great video but make sure you get the housing around the filter tight enough, i tried to tighten to the point he said in the video but it needed to be a full turn tighter to stop air from entering the fuel pump and start the engine.

It’s also recommended to count the number of turns it takes to remove the housing for reference when reinstalling

When doing the upper fuel filter I put a rag under the fuel lines to catch fuel that leaks out from disconnecting the 2 fuel lines. Ok video just did mine before I saw this
