Did you ever turn this into a dual hose unit. just curious if you did and how much better it cooled after. Maybe a before and after max temp drop with both setups when the temp is over 100

Thank you for the video. Does anyone think it is possible to vent the portable air conditioner out a floor drain that goes down under the floor and out the back of the garage? I have garage windows but they are small and have sliders (about 18" x 12") and I see no way of customizing it to fit. Thank you!

Anyone have an idea/tips on a dual hose install in garage. Trying to install for dogs when we go out for the day because it gets hella hot where we live. Today is going to be 107

My objective is to keep the garage always at approx. 65 degrees. It is already heated, so I need to provide AC only for 6 mos., assuming we don't much warmer in the near future. I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Getting it that cool is going to be tough. If your garage isn’t already insulated, you would need a pretty powerful unit, I would suggest something more like a mini split if you’re trying to get it down to 65 in the summer.

Quick question- if I dont want to drill a hole through my exterior garage wall for the exhaust- could I send the exhaust through my attic hatch in my ceiling- otherwise just exhaust the hot air into the attic.

Yes, you could. As long as your attic is vented (it should be).

Did it cool your garage better? What can you get the temperature down to? I live in the Arizona desert.

I’ve been out working in the garage all day today, it’s about 103 outside and it’s been holding the Garage in the mid to high 70s. If you’re going to do something like this just make sure your garage as well insulated. Out in Arizona you may be better off doing a mini split.

Please make the teased dual hose conversion video so that it does not only apply to your specific unit but instead speak in general. So try to explain what the requirements are for a conversion, what acs are suitable for a conversion, how to test if the unit is suitable and so on.. Thanks

Can I just run the exit hose throughout the garage door because I don’t have a window ?

You could, but you'd have a massive leave for hot air to get back in.

I have no ventilation in my two car garage, and I am renting the property.. I purchased a 14000 BTU Honeywell portable Air Conditioner and now I’m forced to open the garage just enough to put the hose outside. I am trying my best to block off the garage cracks, it does drop the temperature about 6 degrees, but I know I need to do better with sealing the top and bottom of the garage while still allowing the hose space to go outside. If I can figure out how to do that better, I’m sure the temperature will drop even more. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

That's my situation as well. If I can't put a hole in the garage wall for ventilation, what else can be done to cool the garage to 66 degrees for 6 months. BTW, this is for a senior [55+] continuing care retirement community residence, a villa of 1800 sq. ft. and a 5200 sq. ft. garage.

I was thinking about this and thought it'd best to build something to put under the garage door to partially close it with a hole in it for the vent. Try a 2x6 the length of the garage door and put a garage seal on top and bottom of the 2x6. Hopefully that will help. Good luck!
