Dude… this was a really awesome video I am buying a 1973 Pontiac Ventura and it’s got nothing but a fuel gauge lol so I’d like to see what the motor is doing. You definitely will make this easy to do once I get the keys for the car first mod I’ll be doing!! And you were right I didn’t think it was that simple lol. The more ya learn. Thanks dude 🤘🏻😎

the oil line hose on the set you got pulls right through when its hook up and titen down you can pull it out with eas i guess youll have to flaer it out like a brake line some

What do you mean? The 12v power comes from the fuse box.

Can someone tell me why these are used? If I see a restomod classic car that has these gauges, does it mean the original gauges are not working?

They tend to be more accurate than factory gauges. Also some old cars/trucks don’t have these gauges but rather have warning lights when something is out of spec. Also these look good.

@@CarGuyV8 - Thanks for the quick reply. I'm a straight restoration guy myself - I don't like it when a classic original is modified. Also, I noticed a '49 Oldsmobile for sale and it has had over 18,000 "unique" viewers, but no one seems to want to buy it. I was afraid the inclusion of the modern gauges might have meant the original gauges aren't working. There must be something about the car that is scaring buyers off, but I don't know what.

@@davidcaldarola5188 I’d highly doubt the aftermarket gauges would scare away a buyer. Might just be because it’s a niche vehicle with a lot of window shoppers.

Most cars don't have actual guages. Just dummy lights.

You probably have no idea but would that specific kit come with a fitting that would work in an international sv345 engine for the water temp?

I don’t know, but there is a water pump fitting kit that Autozone and some online stores sell. One of those kits would probably have the right adapter to use these gauges.

@@CarGuyV8 I’ll search for on of those kits when I go to buy a guage set, I love the old internationals, just they aren’t like Chevys in that parts are readily available

My 67 mustange temp and oil guages dont use use hoses. It's all electrical. So these wouldn't work.

I’ve never had any trouble with these oil gauges. I’ve ran these in 2 different vehicles and the lines feel sturdy enough to me.
