those who are getting this error on running sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r) E: unable to locate package line-headers-6.6.15-amd64 ' E : coudn't find any package by glob & by regex NEED HELP!! run this command instead: sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic and then install vbox extensions again

If both commands do not work that are mentioned in the above pinned comments follow steps 1] sudo su (for getting root access) 2] kali-tweaks (then you see the main menu) 3]then select network repositories. by down arrow and enter 4] select "bleeding-edge, experimental" additional repositories by space bar 5]then select the mirror "community" by hitting the space bar 6]then select "https" and apply 7] continue it's take time while apt update then continue 8] then you redirect to the main menu continue and quit option 9]then follow command: >apt update >apt-get update >apt-get upgrade While upgrading ,the character set occurs with the latin1 option, continue And yes to everything while upgrading

Which partition method should you choose if you already have another virtual os system on virtual box? if you choose the first method "use entire disk" it says it will erase stuff on that partition

Was able to download everything perfectly fine after mistakingly downloaded the virtual machine version of Kali you avoided. Next issue is the fact that after I ran windows virus defender it picked up more than 20 different Trojan, python, back doors and executables tied to the Kali iso. Should I be worried at all? Or is it normal since Kali is literally a pen testing software. For reference i downloaded it all on a laptop I plan to use to study for my security certs, only things I have downloaded are brave browser, steam and discord…

IF python 3 isnt installed alongside Vbox you may get blue screens when running nmap scans or worse opening browser :)

help, i keep getting this error right before getting to the step where you install the GRUB boot ladder. An error has occurred during virtual machine execution! The error details are shown below. You may try to correct the error and resume the virtual machine execution. The I/O cache encountered an error while updating data in medium "ahci-0-0" (rc=VERR_DISK_FULL). Make sure there is enough free space on the disk and that the disk is working properly. Operation can be resumed afterwards. Error ID: BLKCACHE_IOERR Severity: Non-Fatal Error

I guess it might be two reasons. 1. For Kali Linux you may have allocated less storage space. 2. IF not, on Windows 11 , you are running on low storage. Try to free up some storage space and try again.

Nope. restart the vm open terminal and run sudo apt-get update --fix-missing then install VBOXGuestAdditions
