Thank you so much for this video. A spring popped off my recliner and I couldn't find where it went. Your video showed me exactly where it goes. Thanks again.

Many thanks! Saved me a fortune - £5 for a cable and a few minutes work. And I am not particularly skilled at DIY.

I was able to replace the cable and the handle. But when I pull the handle something is preventing the foot rest from lifting. If I pull slightly on the foot rest itself, then it opens, if I push on the back of the recliner a little, it also opens. But it doesn't open the way it used to before the handle broke. Any ideas what might be preventing it from working properly?

What will happen if I ordered the 3.25" vs the 4.75"? Will the recliner not lock in the closed position?
@Recliner-Handlescom8 жыл бұрын
As you can see the most important measurement is the length of the exposed wire. If it is too short for your chair's mech release, when you attach the black clip to the mech trigger the wire will not be long enough to reach to the hole that the little dog legged tip needs to fit in to. So you wont be able to actuate your mechanism. Once you actuate the mech it would otherwise work fine. All this cable and the mech release trigger do is to make the ottoman/legrest extend out. If you have a problem with with the mech not locking closed this is most likely due to a locking spring that is worn or damaged. We also have these type springs. Yu can contact our customer service 706-935-0066 email customerservice@dsbglobalinc.com or visit our web site www.recliner-handles.com for any of your recliner parts needs. Thanks

you did not show D pull replacement which is much more difficult. . How do you get to the screws on the d pull bracket. the seat cushion is in the way. I'll just try to scrunch it down as best I can.
@Recliner-Handlescom8 жыл бұрын
+David Althof . Hello David, You are correct this is one of most frustrating parts of the D-pull replacement. Since the seat cushion is in the way of the mounting screws on the pull end of the handle/cable. For this you probably need a second pair of hands to help you. Have your helper push the cushion down this way you can get to the screws to release the handle and again when you are reattaching to the inside arm of the chair. We will do an update video to display this process. Thanks for for viewing and pointing this out.

And then you need a 7/32" drill bit to de-burr the hole for the cable pin. And then you need a dremel or die grinder to grind down the travel stop, because cast molding often doesn't allow the handle to travel far enough to pull the cable enough to release. Quality control on these mass-produced cheapo parts is absolute garbage.
