How to install Servo Buddy on 2014 Suzuki V-Strom

Follow along as I install a Servo Buddy on my 2014 Suzuki DL1000AA V-Strom as well as eliminate the exhaust servo motor.

Very good video!! Now let me ask you a question?? Why did you have to put a servo buddy? Did your servo went bad? Did your F1 light went on? Or you just did it because you wanted to have the flap open at all times?? I’ve owned a vstrom 650 before and now i have a 1000! Excellent bike the most noble and sweet engine suzuki has ever done! Keep it up brother!

Thank you for the kind words and for watching. The FI light did come on and I did a bit of research to find out why and how I could remedy it. Since installing the Servo Buddy I have not had a problem with the trouble code and the bike runs better than it did before. I hope this answers your question. Keep ridding and be safe my friend.

Hi, good video. Just a question: Did you leave the butterfly valve in place or replaced the complete pipe set that contained it? If you left the butterfly valve as is in situ, does it stay in the open position by default?

I know this is an old video but it was well done. One question, once I unplug the Servo and install the Servo Buddy, do I have to disconnect the Servo and remove it? I may be selling the bike eventually or trading it, and thinking I should leave it installed but with the Servo Buddy connected so the Fi light does not come on.

I removed the servo because it is a restriction on the exhaust and if I remember correctly, it is recommended by the Servo Buddy people. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Good Morning. My motorcycle (VStrom 1000) has the FI light on and I'm not finding a solution for that. I've seen the equipment you set up, and I'd like to ask you a question. Does the bike and spins under three thousand turns work properly, or do you have problems? Thank you.

giovani bona, thank you for watching and if I can help I will but I am not understanding your question. If you have and FI light on then the most likely problem is the servo motor has failed and is not operating the exhaust valve properly or you have installed an after market exhaust causing the fault code. Eliminating the servo motor and bypassing it with the Servo Buddy will eliminate the fault code and help the bike run better at all RPM's. Since I have done this upgrade I have not had a problem with the bike or had the FI light come on. I hope this has helped you.

Hi Sir i have got Vstrom 1000, F1 light on and servo not working,can i remove servo and cables from bike is it fine? after i will get servo eliminator to get light off

No. Clear the code with the scan tool program. If you don't have it, get it. If you unplug it, you will always have the F1 light on. Replace the servo first.

Did you remove the exhaust servo? Removing the servo eliminates the potential for the FI light that is common when it fails. It also eliminates the few pounds of weight that comes with it as well as increasing performance especially with an after market exhaust.

Guitstik Kustoms I didnt remove it f1light did not come on. Bike backfires a bit on deceleration though

The servo buddy may help but I do know that the HealTech X-Tree will definitely help with the back fire. I installed it and it made a huge improvement. Check out the forums on StromTrooper about it. With an after market exhaust it is pretty much a must have. I hope this helps.
