The aftermarket stereo will not have the same connector as the factory stereo. You need an adapter to go from one connector to the other. Your other option is to cut the factory connector off and just hard wire it and use the wire diagram of the stereo and the automobile and match them up. Good Luck with your install! Cheers! Rob

There should be a wiring diagram either in the manual or online. I used a wiring adapter, those should have all the correct connections to all the wires required. Good Luck with your install! Cheers! Rob

Ok. Hard to troubleshoot from here but here we go. It depends on what it's doing. There are 2 power wires in the car. One is on full time (use for your clock and such) and the other is on when the key is on (use for your radio power). If you don't get sound through the speakers then you have to check the speaker wire connections. Check for correct polarity and front and back and right and left to ensure all the speakers are correct. If your radio won't tune check the antenna wire connection. Also check your fuse. Check the fuse if you put one in line and check the fuse in the car fuse box. Now the wiring can be very confusing for both the car and the stereo. There is a wiring diagram in the CRV owners manual and also one for the car stereo. Make sure all the wires are the right ones in the right places. Also you can check if there is a bad wiring connection. (easy to make a bad connection - happens to the best of us). If you can't figure it out try asking a friend or co-worker with some experience. Also test that the stereo turns on with power on a 12V power supply like through a cigarette lighter or 12vDC power supply. Best of luck! Cheers! Rob

No Bluetooth or usb inputs. Only cassette.

I got the wiring harness and stereo from Future Shop which has now been closed. They were the same company as Best Buy. The crimp terminal tool and crimps are available from automotive repair and diy stores. I got mine from Canadian Tire. Good Luck with your upgrade! Cheers! Rob

Yes. You can use a crimp terminal and a crimp tool to make safe permanent electrical connections for electronics. Much faster and easier than solder and shrink tube. You can buy these items at electronics stores or at auto parts stores. Cheers! Rob

Vanessa Rogers it’s a double DIN size. You should also get the wiring adapter if you can find one to make it easier. The new radios are pretty much the same quality so I would try to find one that’s easy to use, has Bluetooth, comes with a microphone for hands free calling and has Apple CarPlay and android auto and has 1 or more USB input. Install can be tricky if you aren’t familiar with car audio or electronics. I would also stick with the traditional Japanese companies like JVC, kenwood, pioneer. Stay away from clarion, or no name companies. Also that crv is known for rear brake issues. But parts are cheap and many people can replace calipers pretty easily. I loved that crv! Good luck! Rob

I took off the plastic bezel that surrounds the speedometer gauge cluster. Drilled a hole for the mic wire in the centre at the back of the cover on the bottom. I used double sided tape to hold the mic base to the bezel and ran the wires behind it to the radio. just make sure the wires don't touch the steering column because it moves. There are only 2 sizes of stereo's. The CRV has the bigger one but you can use the smaller one with a mounting bracket. Good Luck with your install! Cheers! Rob
