Great video, very helpful!! Would not be a DIY without this help. My 2023 had 2 more screws near the hinges holding the backrest on. I removed the hinge to connect the top of the strut, then reconnected the hinge. The hinge pin seemed easier to align than the strut pin.

I’m glad I watched this video as it answered a question for me…I just purchased a new to me 2018 Goldwing and in the trunk are 2 struts in a plastic bag…I assume they are the original ones that got replaced when the rack was installed…thx

got a question….didn’t see it in the video, but is there a light that attaches to the bottom side of the luggage rack ?…if so, do you have the part number….would really like to put a light under there…thx
