I bought a refurb Linksys e900 and the CD was useless. I needed a fresh install and it was trying to link me to an existing network and had nothing about wires to my laptop so I knew there was a problem with their info. I found your video and was done in less than 10mins. Had a few problems when it came to the security screen due to differences in models but once you got me to that page I could find my way around. Thanks so much for a clear, concise video! :)

Hey men, I have same router us your, but I can't access my router and the modem to connect to Internet. Their are connected the power for both the router and modem. My laptop connected also. Nothing working. I very confused about router. Is this give WI-FI or just a connection to other device? I have no idea about wifi and how to get them. So I research it pop up this Linksys N900 Smart WI-FI stuff. I really want wireless Internet to my home, so I thought bought Linksys today. Sorry for to long sentence. I just need help.

I have it connected like in this video. My computer recognizes the router, and I am able to access the setup. However, there is no connectivity for my desktop computer, the one that is directly connected to the router. Also, my Mac will pick up the wireless and I login, but there is no internet connectivity. I have followed your video step by step, and I do fine until I get to the point to change the password and a box pops up to put the user name and pw in. I put in admin in both places and it does not accept them. I have reset the router at least 3 times. Any suggestions? I have to get this done because I have a strange computer showing up on my network map. I believe this person has gone in and changed the password while I was gone for the holidays, because when I came home my system was pw protected when it had not been when I left. help!!

I believe you can see that in advance router settings....depending on which firmware version you are running under.

We always use the IPS address like you show at 2:17 but for some odd reason its not working at all so we can login by any chance did they change it since we wanted to add a NEW modem?

Whenever you change networks or Internet provider or move to a new house, you most likely will need to perform a repeater reset by using the RESET button (press and hold for a real 12-14 seconds) while it's plugged into a wall outlet and power is on, then release the RESET button and go through the setup steps again as shown in my video. Also try moving the Extender closer to where your router is located while setting it up, then you can move it if you need to. Also when setting it up double check that you are using the correct wifi password to connect to your router with the Extender during setting it up and again that it's close to the primary router during the setup and configuration steps.

We reset the button, got router and modem sitting beside us but nothing never happened at all except for WIFI cuts off when router plugged in and the IP address does not open up at all like you showed in video when that's what we are used to using. Unsure why nothing happened since all 3 devices are beside each other, we are on our 2nd modem.@@nickscomputerfix

Reset your Internet modem. Have your ISP do a test to see if they can see your router by way of your Internet modem.

I have an interesting issue. I type in 192.168.1.1 into the URL, and it gives me the prompt to put in the username and password, but typing Admin Admin does nothing. The site clears my entries and asks me again. Do you know what my issue is?

Your default password might have been changed to something else, either by you or someone else.

The setup CD is not required when doing it manually. I believe for your E1000 you need to leave the User ID space empty (blank) and only type in admin as the password. If that does not work, Google using keywords: linksys e1000 default password
