Love that he said just make sure you use gloves when you're installing it! Notice he has no gloves anywhere in sight🙃

Not only is he not wearing gloves... ...he isn't wearing a face mask! We've probably all caught the latest made-up variant of coof through watching this video. 😢

Right?! Hilarious... right when he said that I thought, where are you gloves? Dont listen to this simp below "is that all you can bring to the plate? Give the guy a break" hahahahahahahaha loser

@@kickboxerforever00 You should “give the original comment a break” We already know what the guy is showing us how to keep rodents out (by the title of the video) Pointing out something that was contradictory. I thought it was funny. Even if it’s a good video, you can still point out things that are funny.

Nice, But I came up with my own way. I know mice don't like tin foil. Or metal. & What I do is I spread out tin foil on the basement floor. I take those brillo. Steele copper pads. I cut them up. unfold one onto a big net like use little bit of mailing tape top & bottom then I put that all around. That will work too cause they don't like those pads.

BRILLIANT!! I was looking at metal mesh and didn't find something that had a small enough gap... but the idea of metal lath is perfect!!

Yup I’m 3/4 done with blocking up the gap between the lower layer of shingles and my block foundation. Got a roll of 304 SS mesh from Amazon a couple weeks ago. Nailing with galvanized #3 box nails. Working well.

Yea this is what I want to do all the way around the house. I have siding so I was going to slide it up under the siding a few inches nothing for nails and hang it a few inches below where the plate hits the foundation. These little f*ckers are getting on my nerves. One spot I know they are coming in my basement I have a camera setup with a LED light. Had 3 traps setup for 6 months with no activity. I finally turned off the light because of no activity and 2 days later I caught one. I feel violated knowing they are getting in. Another problem is crickets are eating the peanut butter off the traps.

My Gramps used to do that. Anywhere there was a mouse hole, he’d cut open a soup or coffee can and flatten it, then use the tin and some nails to cover the hole. The metal is stronger than wire mesh and no mouse ever chewed it’s way through. You have to have something that you can use to cut the metal piece to size, though.

Thank you for the tip. I want to seal up this gap between the added on porch and the side of my house which has asbestos siding. I should not drill into the asbestos siding, since it is dangerous due to fine particles and it breaks easily. Do I use glue?

Another way to block them is to just cut a piece of wood and screw it in place. A lot of people already have the lumber and circular saw.

This was very helpful. I moved into a small house with a crawl space after selling a large house from divorce. Renovated and put in a new dishwasher and a mouse chewed the wires. So frustrating. I’ve been searching for how to protect the new repair and it’s hard to find any information on how to protect the wires. I would like to actually wrap up all sides of the dishwasher with the metal. Then I’ll deal with the mice professionally

The gauge of this metal would be important since rats can chew through minor metal screening, and being flexible like this product is, I question whether this would have the toughness to stop even a mouse's amazing chewing ability. Hope it can though. Would need to see tests.

Even if it works 90% as well as hardware cloth, but it helps make it easier in one's mind to do, that may make it more likely one puts it up into all the little spots that it needs to go, making it potentially more effective.

I've been using this method (with hardware cloth + expanding foam) for 25 years and I've not ever had an issue with it. I think this is an improvement, because the mesh seems a lot more workable in corners and easier to cut and the foam now has this pest version.

This is metal lathe. Not for tiling, at least not as far as I knowin the US, but for stone facade exteriors, fireplaces, and the like. It is nailed on and then a coat of mortar is applied. The lathe gives the mortar something to hold on to.
