Plastic cup - great tip. I’m going to start spraying mine. Repeat application is no problem for me. It will take a while to knock out the roots permanently, but I’ll keep after it. I just so happen to have both these products in the garage. Thanks 👍

I got rid of mine by covering it up with a wooden board. No light, no grow and finally it died. ie stopped growing.

I have a crepe myrtle that I haven't cut down, but somehow 20 feet away I'm getting these shoots in my day Lilly & canna Lilly bed. I was working out there earlier trying to remove the lilly's so I could pull up the crepe myrtle shoots but its nearly impossible. There are a couple roots that are every bit an inch thick. I dug out as much as I could, a couple feet down, then used pruning sheers on them. My question is, how do I kill them without killing my lillys or ruining my soil? I want these shoots gone for good!

I absolutely hate Crepe Myrtles. They're cheap, ugly most of the year, re-seed everywhere, terrible for Native American Wildlife (seeds are more carbohydrates vs Protein/fat), send up shoots everywhere, public areas are filled with them and they're not maintained properly..... Just hate them. If you need a small or Medium sized tree plant whatever is native to your area. If you already have them in your yard.... cut them all down and replace with a native tree.

I just removed one from my house, I removed the stump, but some roots were left there. I wonder if the roots alone will shoot new sprouts. One question, did you remove the stump?

Well, its been 10 months since you posted.... did it work?

Peter, I don't think your method is working, after you first application, you had more shoots come up in different areas, I think this will happen again, new shoots in totally different areas. I was searching Google for a permanent fix with one application down to the roots so shoots don't keep coming up.
